Can't figure out how to view the dvd that's

I've got the dvd player hooked up to the tv but I can't find the right channel or setting to view the dvd that's playing. I don't have the manual. I'm sure it's a simple answer but I've been through all the menus and all the channels with the dvd playing and can't find it. ALSO, the channel change button doesn't work on the remote and I have to manually push the buttons for each channel I want to go to.

SOURCE: tv channel problem

- I think you mean model P42. You can get the user manuals here:- http://www.vizio.com/support/downloads/ Note that the quickstart guide file is broken. You have to allow pop-ups, select the model and the manual will appear in a new window then you can save/print. Hope this helps! -

SOURCE: HDTV

Usually they can do that, like the sides will come in a little bit. I have HD on my 50 inch plasma Samsung, and we have Time Warner Cable, but not all of our channels are like that. If all of them are like that for you, then you should go to your menu and settings to look for zoom. But if they all aren't like that and only some, then that's how the channels are.

You have a DVD player hooked etc to either channel three or four? Usually this equipment is connected into the Jacks on the rear of the set, that is to say hooked to a video input and not with the tuner, if hooked that way select the input with the remote for the set and see the picture....

My RCA XL100 is hooked up to cable and works perfectly fine. We've had it for ages and the picture is clear, sound is beautiful, and it gets along fine with my universal remote. There's just one...

Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.

Before you rate this solution let me know what you find first.

I"ve hooked up a dvd player but i can't figure out why the tv wont cpnnect with it? Do I have to re programme my universal remote for it to play?

Try channeling down to either 3 or 4. If this does not work, continue to channel down below channel 2 to AUX setting. There may be AUX1 or AUX2. Make sure the DVD player is on, and wait a few seconds on each of the channels to see if a picture from the DVD appears. I hope this helps.

What channel do you watch a vcr/dvd on.

It depends on the way you have the combo set up, your instruction manual shows you different ways of doing this, but to answer the question it would be channel 3 or 4 if you are using the RF out ot OUT to TV connector in the back of your combo. You can also view tape and disc playback if you set the TV for VID1 or VID2 if you are using the rca dubbing cables(yellow-red-white).I hope this helps!

Tv works great, dvd is new , cant figure out the right hook up , dvd has 3 cables white yellow red

Red = right sound channel, white = left sound channel and yellow = video (picture) channel. if you have the connections matching these on the tv, then there should be an AV channel on the remote/tv control panel. Select this channel to view, if more than one AV channel on the tv, there will be a number next to the sockets you plugged into. Select the AV number and away you go.
If your tv doesn't have the correct sockets you can buy a converter to use the ariel socket on the tv.

How do i hook up my rca dvd to my samsung tv its hooked up right but i can'y figure out how to get the tv on the right channel for it to work

This DVD player only has audio and video outputs. You'll need to connect it through one of your TV's A/V inputs, then switch to that input to see the DVD signal.

If your TV doesn't have A/V inputs available, you'll need to connect the DVD player using an RF converter. This takes the audio and video signals from the DVD and produces a channel 3 or 4 output you tune in on your TV. Converters cost around $10 to $20 and are available at Radio Shack or retailers who sell TV's.

CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO RECORD OFF AN 'AV' SETTING

The method is the same as for TV channels; select the input (i.e. view the desired channel), then press the record button. AV1 and AV2 usually are at the end of the channel list, and can be found by pressing the channel UP or DOWN buttons.
