I have a satelite c660-195 I have put recovery disk 1 in and it loads, the system starts to recovery. It stops and the screen says ( see pic ) so I change the cd and it crashes please help

Is the disk scratched or damaged or anything like that? Is part of the top film a little chopped up?

If the bottom of the disk is scratched you're able to bring in the CD to any place that sells video games or CD's and they should be able to fill in the scratches for you since the top film is the important part of the disk.

If the top film is scratched up, you may need to buy a new disk :/

I hope this helps :)

How to install Recovery disc on your laptop/computer

Formally, when you purchase a laptop or desktop computer, an operating system disc comes with it. But these days, such disc does not come with most laptop or desktop computer because it is already installed in them which is called recovery disk. This has a great advantage, because if it was on a disc, it will have a scratch and it cannot last forever because it might get lost or damaged. So, having it already installed on your laptop or desktop computer by your computer's manufacturer is a very good idea.

Most people are not aware that this recovery disc is on their laptop or desktop computer. And some might know, but don't know how to use or install it.

A Recovery disk is used to repair windows operating system when it has a virus or when operating system is malfunction. Reinstalling windows with recovery disks helps to recover your computer from any damage.

First, you need to confirm whether your laptop or desktop computer has a recovery disk on it or not. To confirm, click Start Menu, scroll to "My Computer" and click on it. Beside your system's "Local disk (C:)" you should find "RECOVERY (E:)" Click on the recovery disc and you should find a golden padlock with "RECOVERY" in front of this. Also confirm the and make sure it's is a minimum of 6GB.

Now, to install/run your system's recovery disk, go to;"Start menu" > "All Programs" > "Backup & Recovery" > "Recovery Manager". Read and follow instructions and you will definitely perform the recovery successfully.

Lastly, make sure you perform the recovery white your laptop adapter plugged to AC and do not run the recovery on battery. There must not be interruption of any kind in the process of the installation.

Good luck.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Laptop, It is not in great condition.. (I got it from a friend for my Son, just for use of the Internet)Initally it was working ok, I was getting a notification...

It seems like the Windows operating system is having problems. That could be due to a faulty hard disk, especially if as you say it's not in great condition. The only way to be sure of that would be to test the hard disk by booting of a CD/DVD with some diagnostic tools to check the hard disk's condition.
If you have access to another computer, you could download and burn the "Ultimate Boot CD" which includes such diagnostic tools. After that, insert it to your laptop and try booting from that and running one of the several Hard disk diagnostics to see if it finds something.
Another possibility would be that just the contents of the hard disk are corrupted, while the hard disk itself might be on good working condition. If that is the case, it will show up after running the diagnostics above. To fix that however, you might need to re-install Windows on the laptop from a Windows CD-ROM, depending on how severe the issue might be.
