Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet
My PDF files opens with: File conversion with symbols, numbers, ets. that is unreadable. How can I correct this? It shows that I should select the encoding that makes the document readable. Choices are windows(default), MS-DOS, Other reading. an small drop down window shows
Baltic, china, japanese and several other types. When I click on the Windows (default) a western version comes up and changes the wording and symbols, but still it is not readable. I have been on the phone with Adobe several times and have not been able to correct the problem. Is there a setting in Adobe Acrobat or in Microsoft Word that will correct it?
You cannot open a PDF file directly in MS Word. You must first convert the PDF file into a Word file.
Of course, you can also open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader and then copy and paste text from it into Word.
If you have Adobe Acrobat, though (not just the free Acrobat Reader), you can open the PDF file with that program and then save that same file as a text, rtf or a Word document file (go to File, Save as, and then choose the type of file to save as), you can then open and edit in MS Word.
