Toshiba Satellite P25-s526 \r\n

Toshiba Satellite P25-s526
PROBLEM:

When the machine is plugged in and powered off the battery will charge. Then, when the machine is turned on the battery charge light goes off and the power meter indicates the battery is discharging, while at the same time it reports that the machine is on AC power. Ast the machine is used the battery discharges and eventually the machine shuts down.

How I wish this would do it,,,,,,,

I've already replace the battery and changed adapters twice. I've drained the battery (original and new) and charged overnight..... no good... none of it ;>(

So, given that the battery is fully charged, the machine is powered on, and then the charging light goes out and the machine reports it is both running on AC... AND the battery is discharging ... WTF?

To make it even worse, if I unplug and then plug in the adapter, the charging light comes on, the flashes a few times and goes out. For as many times as I unplug and plug in the adapter, the same behavior repeats itself.

Try this one first, remove the battery press and hold the"ON" button for at least 30 sec. Put back the battery and the AC adapter and power it on. Try as well to drain the battery completely, unit it does not show any signs of activity then charge it overnight. If that does not work it could be a bad adapter (its not giving the correct voltage) or bad battery.

To test and to avoid purchasing the wrong piece you may want to borrow an adapter and a battery back from someone with a similar laptop. Before testing, have any documents saved and shut down properly. Try using the adapter on you computer and see if it resolves it. If it does it may be a bad adapter if it does not work, you may want to use a different battery. Or you can use your adapter and battery on a known working toshiba. If it works on another laptop yo may have a problem with the port of the power supply or it can be an internal issue.

This may likely be a problem internally. On the board perhaps.

My Toshiba P25 s526 will power on. The AC is connected. The ac and battery lights are on. The battery discharges and the unit turns off with in 2 min.

Ok take out the battery and plug the AC in and power on to see if it works. If it does then it shouldnt go off after 2 min. but if it doesnt power that means there is a problem with your AC that is why it turns off.
I hope this solution has been helpful.

Windows 7 on Toshiba P25-S526 PC and there drivers

For any drivers not automatically installed with Windows 7 running Windows Update should detect most all of them. You should make sure to select all updates, including optional updates (not the language packs). The optional updates may include hardware updates which will ensure your hardware is using the best and most current software possible. If this does not detect everything, I would recommend going to the toshiba support website and downloading the remainder of the drivers from there. You should also make sure your laptop is compatible with Windows 7 by checking out Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Good Luck,

If you have a volt meter measure the power coming out of the power supply and make sure the outlet is good that you are plugging it into.

Try resoldering the connection on the circuit board where the power supply plugs into it. There may be a loose connection or a crack in the board that you could jumper around using a short piece of wire soldered around the break.
