You need to connect your computer hardwired to the router and reconfigure it. On your wireless computer, you need to delete all the preferred networks and add a new wireless profile.

After factory reset, my computer dont recognise my router

Some later model wireless routers have the Password(ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adaptersin your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit yourrequirements.
The encryption key secures your data and wireless connection from unauthorizedaccess. To configure the wireless settings in the router, connect a LAN cablefrom your computer to the wireless router, then open a Browser on your computerand enter the router's configuration IP address, then enter the admin login andpassword and then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID andEncryption key.
The router's encryption key can be a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA or WPA2key.If you use the Passphrase method select either WEP or WPA or WPA2 togenerate the encryption key. You can enter the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key with 8 to63 ASCII characters or 64 Hex digits.
Most people use Passphrase which is easier to remember eg. I was born inJanuary 1988.
The strongest and latest security is WPA2, the weakest and oldest is WEP. Toconnect to your wireless router from the computer/laptop, configure thewireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings ieSSID, plus the WPA or WPA2 encryption key. Then computer/laptops cancommunicate with your wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key

Upluged router to move it and lost "Secure"

Welcome to fixya

Please follow the steps to make the wireless network private

Click the below link
http://192.168.1.1

Now it will ask for username and password

Enter username = ( blank) and password = admin
If you can't login using this credentials then you will have to reset the router

If you logged in . Then click on Wireless > Wireless security

On this screen select

Security Mode : WPA Personal
WPA Algorithm : TKIP
WPA shard Key : "enter a password here"
Group Key Renewal : set to default

Click on save settings. After that restart router .
Now your wireless network is secured and you will have to type the WPA shared key inorder to connect to router when it prompts

Thanks

Have lost my 3COM network key number

Hello, welcome to fixya.

If by lost your "network key number" you mean the WEP or WPA key that you setup from the router's settings and you use to connect everytime to that wireless router then I would suggest to push the "reset" button on the device (A small pinhole button usually located in the back or bottom of the device).

Doing this, will reset your wireless device to initial factory settings and so you will know the standard WEP key by then. It is written on a sticker on the device along with the SSID,administration console IP/password and MAC address of the router.
NOTE: Resetting factory settings on your router will cause all settings to dissapear (ports forwarded etc.)and will have to be done from the beginning.

Im pretty sure this will fix this type of problem 98% of the time (unless the nature of the problem is different).

Kind Regards from FixYa.

Thanks.

I need the WEP number and can't find it. i will also take the WPA key as well. serial number on my router is CGN70F190345. MAC address is 0016B61033f8.

WEP and WPA are security measures setup by the end user. Please consult web or printed documentation on resetting router to factory defults.

I lost my wpa key? Can I find this somewhere?

Yes, you can get the wpa key from the setup page of the router.

Type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of your web browser.

By default, leave the password blank.

Once in the setup page, go to Wireless > Security.

You will find there the WPA pre-shared key.

I hope this helps!

I have forgot my wpa key help

Unforunately you cannot recover a lost WPA key. It negates the purpose of the key. You will have to log on to the router and create a new one and make sure all connecting clients have a matching key.

Ok so I have a wireless adapter and I recently lost the password for it I was wondering if you had anyway to reset it or find it. I know it was just a bunch of letters and numbers nothing I set up.

The password you are referring might be WEP or WPA which assigned by your router. So you need to reset your router not the Wireless adapter. After you reset the router's Network Key (WPA/WEP)
You can reset your Range extender too; Press the Reset button on the back of the Range Expander for about ten seconds. This will reset the unit to its
default settings

Good Luck
