Question about KitchenAid Architect? II U SERIES KUDS03ST Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Kitchen Aid Dishwasher KUDS03ST We built our house and had this dishwasher sitting in the box for almost 2 yrs before finally using it. After finally installing it I find that occasionally the door to the soap does not open for washing as I find out when the dishes are supposed to be clean and I open the door to hear the soap then pop out of the dispenser. How do I fix this problem?

I have seen a lot of dishwashers that have this problem if they have a flip open lid for the soap .. often its caused by the top adjustable tray blocking the soap door from opening .. i put a camera inside to figure out what was happening ..in some cases all i had to do was raise the top basket .and make sure the basket is fully back before closing the main door .. it still blocks the soap door but allows it to open far enough to get the detergent washed out .....also i had to avoid putting large items in the corner where the dispenser is located .. they dont block the door but do reduce the water flow that could otherwise get into the cracked open soap door .. i reported this problem to my dealer .. and he stated that he didnt really want to know .. if he knows then he is obligated to do something about it .. which he claims he cant .. i demonstrated the problem on several brands at the store to whoever would listen .. some dishwashers have a sliding or rotating soap door .. those work better .. a few have a cut out in the top basket to clear the soap door .. .. the design of many washers are so similar that you might believe they are all made by the same manufacturer .with the same error in design . many seem to have that problem .. when the door doesnt open properly then the soap may become wet but not desolved .. somtimes it does partially desolve in the rince cycle .. i would think that is a hazzard .. you would have soap residue left on your dishes that you might ingest .. the dishes might look clean however so you may not even know anything was wrong ... letters to the manufacturers got me nowhere .. we struggled with that machine for a year .. we learned the tricks to make it work but during a big party our guests and relatives didnt know that .. there we were ready to serve with all dirty dishes ..after that happend a few times we bought another new dishwasher .. but the one delivered had the same problem .. what frustration .. so we sprung for a really good unit from bosch .. it has a sliding door and works perfectly .. very happy now ..

My double drawer kitchen aid dishwasher is stuck on rinse mode

I tried this once an it worked. Tech came from Sears an asked where fuse box was. He tripped the breaker for dishwasher. Flipped it back on after 10 seconds. Came to the dishwasher an it was like new again. He said sometimes they need a reset. If that did not work he had to replace the panel. Hope it works for you.

you will just need to run it a few times. I know of no way to kill bubbles except to dilute them.

Does not start

Have someone look over your breaker box and reset all GFI plugs these are the plugs in your house with the Black and Red buttons press all of these around the kitchen near the dishwasher and breaker box. If you finally determine the appliance is getting power and is plugged in,and it still does not operate. You then want to look into the safety switch on the door locking mechanism it has failed.

Hi.

Using too much rinse aid will not work. Stick to user manual factory prescriptions. If you use correct amount of rinse aid, and the right product for your dishwasher, that is not the cause of the stains.

Ensure that you are using the right detergent along with rinse aid. Check specifications on manual.

Ensure that the drain well is clean.

Ensure that spray arms have enough pressure, check water level and impeller pump.

If you still get stains on dishes, and you are sure that they had been caused by limescale, that means that the water in your house is too hard. This will also damage your appliances in the long term, causing faults due to accumulation of limescale and rust.

The best thing to do is installing a water filtration system on the appliance inlet.Call your local appliance shop or technician to discuss about the problem and purchase a filtration system for your appliance.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher runs for about 2 hours. Is this normal

It depends on your water pressure. Mine runs a cycle in about 25 minutes, with 92 psi water pressure. Before changing all the pipes in my house, I had about 30 psi and it took about 45 minutes. The longer it takes to fill, the longer it takes to do a wash.

Bosch dishwasher

Although I previously posted with the same problem of a film on the dishes after cleaning, I did find a section in the owner's manual which solved my problem. Lift up the rinse aid cap on the inside door - the factory setting is on "4". The rinse aid works in conjunction with your local water, which has variations in it's hardness or softness. When your dishes are streaky, lower the rinse aid setting to 1 or 2. If your dishes are spotted, raise the rinse aid setting higher.
