I have gone through all the forums but none of them worked...
The correct solution for the problem is the canon printer needs to have both the color and black catridges present in the printer...
So even if you purchased new black catridge only you need to have the old color catridge to be placed in the place of color catridge....
So it will detect the catridges and if any of the one is empty it asks to select black at the time of printing and simply select it you will get a black print...
So make sure both the catridges either empty or full need to be placed to detect the catridges....
Plug off the catridge, clean the bottom side of catridge then put in again. Do some Cleaning from Printer > Properties > Maintenance. or buy a new ones.
HP has embeded tools to detect if you are using the original HP cartridge or not in their printer driver. It detect fake catridge & display message to the user. That is the message you are encountering.Avoid using fake catridge for long printer life and good quality printing.
Sounds like the sensor area may be dirty, to the 21 cartridge. try lightly scrubbing that with a very smooth cloth or whatever you have. its the area where the "chip part" of the cartridge must meet. that or new print head because its too worn, pending on how long you have had it for.
open the cover and take out the printheads and clean the contact points. also clean the contact points on the printer.
reinstall it and see what it does, also try turning the printer off and on /
if this does not work you need a new printer /the printer hardware is bad for sure if you have already replaced the printhead and catridge .
In this case make sure that the catridges are inserted in the right slot......
The Colour Catridge should go in the right side and the black Catridges should go on the left side....
Make sure the catridge which u are using on this printer is the right one..........
It should not be a refilled cartridge if it is it will not work because Lexmark printers are not designed to work with Refilled catridges it may damage ur Printer.........
If everything here is fine just take out both the catridges......
Take a Dry Paper Towel........
Clean the copper contacts on the printer as well as the Catridges.......
Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer............
Replug it in and if still it says catridge is missing then may be a problem with the catridges..............
Hope it Works.....
Good Luck........
I had refilled the catrige, then when I start to print a 'service
error' window will appear. At the LCD screed shows E.. 4 ..2. I believe
the printer simply assume the catridge is depleted, but how can it
happened as I already just refilled it. How to make printer detected
the catridge as a full? I really hope you can solve and make my
refilling mission succesful and my printer work again.
hi sand; you may try cleaning the copper in your cartridge with tissue paper and also the pins in the printer but do it slowly, and see if it works thanks
