Question about QuarkXPress 6.0 for Mac

1 Answer

Can't create a pdf file in Quark Xpress 6.5

I mistakenly deleted the postscript priter. Then I downloaded a 'Bullzip PDF printer' and a 'Generic Color Postscript Printer' online. I used file> export> layout as PDF> and the file is saved.......but only the last page is saved. I checked 'spreads' and get the first/last page spread.

I need to create a pdf of the entire document. I used to be able to do it, but not since I deleted the original postscript printer.

I will appreciate any help. I need to get this newsletter to the printer.

One application I know that could do the same function is CutePDF. You may download and install it for FREE over the internet. Once you successfully install this, PDF conversion will as simple as if you are printing a hardcopy.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How i can see the qxd extension file

this is Quark Express file. So to view this file, you can use it.

You can download a trial version here--http://8.quark.com/evaluation.html

You can create a PDF file from a Quark document using Acrobat. The desktop version of Acrobat comes with Acrobat Distiller which can convert the Quark file to PDF.

According to the Adobe Create PDF Online web site (http://createpdf.adobe.com/index.pl), native Quark (qxd) files do not appear to be supported for online conversion. However, the service does support PostScript (.ps) files. If you can save your Quark file as a PostScript file, then you can use the Create PDF Online service.

Hope this helps.

Quark 7.01 crases when creating a PDF

In this case, I would suggest you to try doing a Thumbnail drag for one of those documents and then check the results.

The steps to be followed to do a thumbnail drag is mentioned at the below mentioned link:-

Using Quark 6.5, can't import a pdf ver 1.5 (acrobat 6.x)

The PDF has probably been saved with the wrong compatibility verson.

Ask the originator of the PDF to create another version with Compatibility set to Acrobat 4.0 (PDF 1.3)
