Question about Epson RX595 Photo All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

I recently (archive &) reinstalled my Mac OS X Leopard startup disk on my Imac to solve a mail problem. Now I'm trying to scan a photo with my RX595 and I keep getting an ICC not recognized error message. Do I need an update or a reinstall of my Epson startup or something else?

Apple recommends that if you wish to go from 10.4 to 10.6 then you should purchase the 10.6 Box Set.

System Requirements to run Snow Leopard:

Mac computer with an Intel processor

1GB of memory

5GB of available disk space

DVD drive for installation

Snow Leopard Installation Instructions:

Just insert the DVD in the optical drive.

Restart your Mac while holding down the C key.

You will be guided through the installation procedure and be prompted at one point to choose which install option you want.

Once the Snow Leopard install is completed the Mac will restart itself.

You will probably be asked to register with Apple upon restart.

Enjoy Snow Leopard on your Mac!

Q: Can I upgrade directly from Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)?

A: Yes. Apple recommends purchasing the Mac Boxed Set for this purpose, which will also update iLife (it is unknown at the time of this writing whether older versions of iLife work with Snow Leopard) and iWork. Also note that while it has been said that the $29 upgrade will work with 10.4, it is not officially supported and may be in violation of the licensing terms.

Q: What happened to the different install options? Can't I do an Archive & Install?

A: Apple has revamped the familiar installation options for Mac OS X. You now have two choices, either a straight upgrade or a clean install. Supposedly if you choose to do a straight upgrade, what actually goes on behind the scenes is what was traditionally known as an Archive & Install.

Q: Is there anything I can do to better prepare myself for the upgrade?

A: Yes. It is advisable to run a Verify/Repair Permissions and Verify/Repair Disk in Disk Utility. You may also want to run the maintenance tasks in Onyx. And finally, it would be wise to get your applications up to date using a program like AppFresh.

Well, there are a variety of reasons that can consequently drag down the performance of your Mac. Meanwhile, there are certain ways through which you can considerably speed up your Mac machine. For example, you can reset the browser settings to regularly clear useless caches and history, get rid of all unwanted widgets from the dashboard through the Dashboard control panel, remove unnecessary applications, find out & delete those duplicated files, or if your Mac is running out of memory, try upgrading the system RAM to boost its performance etc. However, if you prefer a more efficient way to speed up your Mac, try the following all-in-one Mac speedup tool as it can help resolve all issues in just a few clicks.

The MP990 should be able to do this with snow leopard. Make sure you are using the MP Navigator EX as the application to bring scans into the iMac.

For further information, go to this link. In the search box in the center of the screen, type "scan wireless to mac" and click the Search button. Review the various answers for details.

IMac 24 intel no startup sound_black screen_but light is on

Try inserting the master (system) disc that came with it and hold down the "C" key while booting. If it comes on with the OS X installer, try disk utility to reset permissions, if that fails to solve it, start again and this time when you get the install disc up get to options and do archive and install. If that has no effect, get out your Apple Care ( you do have it don't you?) and take /send it to Apple.

My iMac G4 turns on and goes to the grey startup screen with the apple and loading circle, but stays there, and gets stuck, and after a few minutes shuts off on it's own.

You may have to reinstall you OS e.g. tiger, leopard with the disks that came with your computer. that should solve your problem

Lost Leopard mail from iMa

I am afraid i gave in and found an Apple repair company. They sorted it out at a high cost but I cannot function with all my interests without a machine that I can trust. The engineer said he found my E mail in the waste bin. No idea how it got there or how I could recover it. I had look at the contents of this bin several times and never saw anything resembling mail.

Thanks for your concern folks,
John

Imac g5 cant log in get grey screen

Hello, this can be either a software or hardware problem,
To know this, please try to repair your hard drive by pressing "cmd - S" at startup, that will take you to single user mode. you will see a black screen with unix lines. Here you type "fsck -f" and hit enter. Wait untill the repair is finnished. If it shows problems then you have a hard disk problem. If not, try to reinstall the system using the DVD, and choose "archive and install" option, to keep your files and settings.

Imac problem starting up

Reinstall Mac Os X, this should fix the problem.

Do a backup of all your files before reinstalling the OS.

If you do not know how to reinstall Mac OS get it safely done at any Mac shop, it is not an expensive operation.
