Question about Gateway MT6705 Notebook
Remove the battery and plug the laptop. If there is no activity when you push on the power button (not even for a second) your motherboard is defective : it could be only the power jack, but it could be a bigger problem also.
There is a very small chance to be a memory problem. Your model comes with one module of 1024MB. Check the memory :
- if you have 2 memory modules use only one at a time, the other one could be defective or
- check your memory with another laptop or
- use some known good memory etc.
If no activity with good memory that means the first supposition is the right one : motherboard is defective (the power jack or something else). Could be expensive to be repaired or replaced. Verify if the laptop is in warranty and have it checked by a professional.
