Why won't it get hot and why doesn't the timer move?

The igniter may be working correctly, but the gas valve could be failing closed periodically which would cut off the heat. As for the non-moving timer, the replacement could be defective.

I have a kenmore 110.87561601 dryer, it blows warm air but not hot, is this the norm for it?

Check power at the outlet. If you're not getting the full 240v then it'll come out warm but not hot. Otherwise I would go with the timer.

Clothes have to be dryer twice because it doesn't get hot enough.

Their are various reasons why a dryer won't heat correctly. We know the heat source is there because it does work. Something else must be happening. A simple air restriction can cause the dryer heat to build rapidly instead of gently flowing through the clothes and out the vent.

Stagnated air builds quickly causing the control on the blower housing to shut down the heating element. We want to make sure our vent to outside is open. We want to check the filter and clean that. Before we replace any parts we need to make sure the timer or electronic control is working and the electrical source is on point.

Model MDE5500AYW. Seems like dryer occasionally overheats when in sensor dry mode. Lint screen and vent are clean and plenty of air flow. One time the sensor works fine (minute timer drops and unit shuts...

there isn't a timer on this machine, you have a control board,if the time isn't counting down correctly sounds like you have a bad control board that's inside the console

GE Profile dpsr473ewoww timer doesn't work and heat level is low

We should address the heat problem first. If your dryer complaint is "heat seems low" or taking "too long to heat", this is commonly confused for other problems. When in fact, you may really have a "ventillation problem". Do you feel (with hand) alot of hot air pressure coming out the back of the dryer or house vent-line (for dryer)?

I would disconnect and clean the dryer exhaust vent/duct (at wall and machine). Then, while leaving the vent-line disconnected temporaily, test and run your dryer. You may see an signficant improvement.

Does it heat up better?
Do you feel alot of hot air and pressure coming out the back of the dryer?
When connected; do you feel alot of hot air pressure coming out of your house dryer vent?

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
