This could be the result of a faulty switch, a loose connector, a faulty X-termination board, a pinched wire in the cut motor, a loose power wire, a head cover that is not engaging the AC motor switch, or a bad controller.
carveright recommended trouble shooting steps for this problem (i know different company but if similar product and the same problem, it should work):

  1. Check that the right clear cover hinge cover is not loose and that the switch is not loose. If either is loose it can affect the actuation of the switch button by the finger on the clear cover.
  2. Verify that the connectors to the switch are in place and tight.
  3. Verify that the cut motor switch (the one on the right side of the cover) is working by listening for the click as the cover is lowered.
  4. Take a small implement and manually depress the switch button by hand. If you can hear the click when you do it by hand but not when the cover is lowered then there is something wrong with the cover that is preventing it from depressing the switch far enough. Resolve this cover issue.
  5. UNPLUG THE MACHINE and remove the bottom cover. Check the seating of all of the connectors to the power supply, controller, X-termination board, and ON/OFF switch.
  6. Check the AC motor brushes for excessive wear.
  7. Check traces on the X-termination board for signs of a burnt trace.
  8. If none of the above steps solves the issue consult a senior engineer.

Motor hums till reset swithch pops/just put a new pressure switch on today:does the same thing/motor turns freely and oil level is good/no wiring issues visible

With no air in the tank, and the motor will not start indicates that the starter capacitor may have failed or the bearings of the motor are allowing the rotor/armature to lock against the stator. If your compressor has a belt, remove the belt and try the motor. If it still does not turn, try spinning the motor then turn on while still spinning (use caution). If continues to turn, most likely capacitor, if it stops /locks when you turn-on while spinning, check bearings. If your compressor is pump/motor together suspect bearing on the pump side of motor. Some motors have a primary start winding as well as a run winding. Inside the motor, there are contacts that my have welded together. Good luck

Motor/Drum doesn't turn/spin & belt appears to be OK

With the belt off can you spin the motor freely by hand? If no then the bearings are froze and the motor has to be replaced. If yes and the motor will not start when power is applied then the motor needs to be replaced. If it starts without the belt on but not with, then the drum is bound somewhere and has to be freed.

Agitates but wont spin

You will probably find this useful, particularly sections 2 and 7.

Note how one motor is used to produce the agitation when it rotates in one direction and the spin when it rotates in the other. The manual describes how the motor spin is transferred through the transmission and other elements. You need to consider each step from whether the motor is spinning to whether the tub is turning and see where the motion is being lost. The motor itself is probably just fine since it produces agitation. Something is probably either jammed (if the motor isn't turning) or disconnected (if it is) when it should be spinning.

HELP!! Washer machine wont work. Doesnt drain or spin. Clicks to drain and spin but nothing happens, the timer still counts down as if everything is fine.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

If the machine starts, fills and goes through its' agitate cycle fine, the problem is likely not in the motor or transmission.

This type of washer uses a reversible motor. When turning one way, the machine agitates the clothes.

When the timer gets to the spin cycle, the motor reverses, drives the pump (directly from the motor) for a period of time and then goes into spin cycle.

This appears then that is is either the connection to the motor itself or the timer.

The timer is driven by a separate motor on the control panel so if the contacts for the spin cycle are worn, the timer will move but the motor won't turn on.

Washer will not do a spin cycle for rinse or end of cycle

you can check two things,. One is, is the belt broken or stretched, the other is the motor, is the motor turning if the motor is turning then replace the belt. If the motor is not turning replace the motor.

Hums with no spin, then turns off

Turn off and unplug. Reach in and try to spin the drum by hand . if it won't turn the support rollers are probably bad and need replaced. If it turns then plug it in and try to turn it on. If it turns on and spins then the motor may be going bad. If it won't spin the motor or capacitor may need replacing. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any help. Please rate me so I know how I'm doing. Thanks.
