Question about Dryers

Maytag Dryer Heavy duty Dry Control

Hi, I'm having a problem with our Maytag dryer. There is not heat coming from the machine. All else works fine, tried to take the thing apart, but I think someone used crazy glue to put it together? Any idea if there is a fuse somewhere, or can the element be burnt out?

My frigidare heavy duty crown series gas dryer is n0t heating and barely able to dry my clothes--what could be the problem and how can i fix it

Hello Chuck, thanks for your inquiry
Based off the information you have provided I have identified a few possibilities as to why your dryer is not heating could be the element, thermostat, or control panel. Each component controls the heat within your dryer and if one goes out it is possible that can cause the rest to not function properly. To accurately find out the reason to why your dryer is not heating I would recommend having a professional come out. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

My dryer is a ultimate care heavy duty super capacity runs fine but it wont heat up so it don't dry. Does it have a pilot or something i need to replace?

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Taking two cycles to dry one load , the brand is maytag performa heavy duty

Hi,

If your
dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

Dryer Timer Won't Advance in Auto Mode

Inside the dryer there should be two small metal strips (about 6-7 inches long and about 1/4 inch wide). These are the pieces that detect how much moisture is in the clothing. If possible, unscrew the plastic piece that they mount to, and see if the wires are still attached.

Bear in mind that "auto dry" doesn't usually work well unless you have a well filled dryer (one or two items may not come in contact with the sensors enough to tell the machine to continue heating— since it isn't coming in contact with wet clothing, it thinks the load is "dry".

The problem could also come from the circuitry in the control panel, but I would check these first. The fact that the machine works fine in regular timed cycle indicates that the upper limit and multi temp thermostats are working correctly.

As always, unplug the unit before unscrewing anything.

Takes almost 4 hours/timed cycles to dry 1 load of bedding/sheets

most of the time your complaint is the home owners house venting.run a load with the venting detached[it wont hurt a thing] if ok then must clean venting till dried as well as with out venting.if still long dry times first must make sure air ways in dryer are clean[should have good air flow at back if hand held there] and may need to remove front to clean lint filter area.and inspect blower ,making sure mounted to shaft and not worn in the center[blower key way, inside the hole where motor shaft goes thru blower]you dryer only has one element so if you have heat its heating.if you did all above and have problem still can be electronic[thermostats, timers etc........but i have fixed 1000s of dryers and their having problems are rarer.i hope that helps God bless ,tom
