SOURCE: Facebook won't open in Google Chrome or Internet Explorer

Here you go let me know how it works.... You may want to reset settings in Internet Explorer

Step 1:
In Chrome, click the wrench icon, select "Options" then "Under the hood". Hit the button at the bottom that says "Reset to defaults".

Step 2:
On the same screen, make sure "Use DNS pre-fetching" is un-checked.

Step 3:
On the same screen, scroll down and press the button that says "Change proxy settings".

Step 4:
This assumes you are on broadband (with a pen and paper, write down your current settings so you can back them up if things go wrong). Click on "Lan Settings". Make sure "Automatically Detect Settings" is un-checked. Click "Ok".

Step 5:
Go to the Window XP/Vista Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel). Load up the "Network Connections".

Step 6:
You will now see a list of the network cards and bridges on your computer. Only one of these is used by your computer to connect to the internet. For example, if you are using wireless internet you will only be using the wireless connection. Right click on each other connection and select "disable". You should only have one enabled connection.

Step 7:
Restart your machine. Turn it off and on again. This is a very important step.

Step 8:
Google Chrome will now be working fully. If not, then clear your history and cache and restart the browser.

SOURCE: Hi I've been having these problems now for a few

This is likely a cache or cookies problem. To fix it, please follow the instructions below…
On your browser, look to the upper right side where you will see the Tools link.

Click on it and scroll to the bottom where you will see Internet Options. Click on it.

In the middle of the box, you'll see Browsing History. Click the Delete button to start fresh.

That should resolve your problem.

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to

This is the second reference I've seen today about not being able to access Facebook. Try logging into the "non"-secure site, If that works, then try the secure version,

Also, test your ability to log in with other browsers, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer. That way, you will have a means to evaluate the cause of the problem.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks ~Jim :-)

After connecting Facebook, a message that"internet explorer could not open the page" is displayed and facebook is disconnnected.

if the place is your home your accessing internet from then try making sure the site is allowed through internet explorer. this can be done in the options page from the top menu. if your accessing internet from another area the issue could be with that site being blocked from the access point itself, for example most schools block all social sites

Cannot access facebook

If you think the reason is the browser then here is my advice : Just go to and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result .
good luck .

rate if useful please !
