This is a FRONT LOADING machine. I have the service manual, and cannot locatre the safety switch you mention. Further ideas? Thanks.

Washer runs full cycle, and when final spin ought to stop, still shows "1" minute in window. spin cycle slows down, then seems to try to drain again, and keeps going back to spin mode.

I had the machine open two days ago to clean the coin catcher in the drain (it had ingested two of those all in one soap / conditioner pads.

Could I have done something in making that repair? Any idea what board controls spin cycle? is there any mechanical interconnect other than the door lock which ALLOWS it to spin?

It sounds like your timer has gone out. Repair of the timer should fix your problem.

Hi
The reason for this Could be the safety switch which is faulty which is activated by closing the lid. There is a plastic section on the left hand side of the lid which activates the switch. The plastic lip sometime breaks so you need to rivet a piece of alumimium in place.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.com

IC controlling the spin operation seems to have gone faulty. Or about to go.

WHY DO I GET ERROR E47 WHEN THE SPIN CYCLE IS SUPPOSED TO START?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an E47 when the spin cycle is supposed to start, on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E. The E47 code states that the control board of you appliance thinks that the door is open. This could also be a false error code. I suggest resetting your washer, by either unplugging it or shutting the power of at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Once power is restored, start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Does not empty after final spin cycle I have checked the pump and hoses. The only thing I see may not be right a cylinder shape is in the boot at the outlet.

Hi Peter,
So I see that your Frigidaire Affinity washer is not draining completely after the final spin. I also see that you've checked the pump and hoses as well. There are a couple of other troubleshooting tips I might suggest.
1) Make sure the standpipe isn't too tall. Maximum standpipe height should be 8' (2.4 m).
2) Check the house drain pipes to see if they are clogged. If so, unclog the drain pipes. Contact plumber if necessary.
