The spinner brush turns really slowly. It doesn't have any suction. It used to not spin at all but I cleaned the spinner and now it rotates slowly.

My dyson dc35 animal brush spins very slowly. Brush is clean and hair free, could it be the small motor

There shouldn't be a motor in the brush. The brush is powered by the suction on the hose. Check the suction on the hose. The vacuum itself might need to be cleaned. If the suction is a problem and you have cleaned the vacuum I would contact dyson support to see if they can replace your vacuum. http://www.dyson.com/support.aspx

Turbo tool used only once or twice, already brush moves so slowly it stops when I try to use. Brush can actually be stopped by hand. Manual says nothing at all about the brush ie. HOW to take apart to see...

It takes a lot of suction to spin the brush. First make sure the suction is good. Make sure the bag and/ or filters are clean. Replace if necessary. Most turbo tools can be opened up to clean. Most have a lever that allows you to open it up to clean hair, dust, etc from the fan and fan shaft and other areas inside the tool. The tools pick up a lot of hair and debris and some will wrap around the moving parts building pup to the point the brush will not spin fast enough. The same thing can happen to the brush roll on your vacuum so be sure to clean it too and replace the belt at least twice per year.

Brissell proheata 2x doesn't have suction or the red brushes won't rotate on the hand tools?

Check the brushes for hair or some other clogging material and remove it. If the brushes can't spin freely, there is not enough suction power to make them spin.

My hoover Model F5858-920 bushes stop turning how can i fix it?

1. Check to be sure recovery tank is on right. This is the problem 99% of the time the brushes use a turbine powered by the suction.
2. Check to be sure the brushes are set to "on" if it has that option. And that the screen filter on the front of the machine is clear.

3. Check the brush block by pressing the 4 tabs holding it in place under the machine. It will slide out. It should turn easily. If the tab to turn them is broken they will not work either. This is what they should look like:

4. Place a screwdriver in the socket that turns the brushes, it should turn slowly but fairly smooth. It should not make any grinding or foul noises while turning or if it is frozen solid it is bad. This is the replacement part for that:

I have a bisell vacuum but no suction The spinner at the bottom is not spinning how do i reset

You have a clog somewhere in the hose. You may have a belt off. You MIGHT have a air driven brush, if that is the case, dont look for the belt ... look for the clog. You may want to use a shop vac to help you remove the clog. Loosen what ever you have to to assure the hoses are CLEAR.

Good luck

Hoover sttem cleaner

The brushes spin by virtue of an air driven turbine. This turbine uses a little of the motor suction to turn a large fan which turns the brushes. If you look behind the clear glass window on the front right hand side of the machine, you will see a screen which acts as a filter to keep debris out of the turbine. If this screen becomes clogged, it will affect the flow of air to the turbine and the brushes will slow down or stop all togeather.
Also, if the lid of the recovery tank is not on correctly, the suction will be compromised and the brushes will not turn and the machine will not pick up water off the carpet.
