It is the switch, and you should be able to find a Sears service center in your area.

They will either have the switch or be able to order you one.

And that is definitely a drill worth fixing...I have a few and they are a good drill

Drill not running at correct speed

Check for a speed lever on the case that changes the gear ratio from high to low speed There is a button in the front of the trigger and it limits the amount of pull you can give the trigger which controls the resistor setting in the trigger switch. Turning this will alter the speed when you pull the trigger

I have a dewalt xrp 18 volt cordless drill and the trigger stopped working the battery is fully charged and i tested the motor and its good this is the part number off the trigger 152398-04.

This replacement battery was a great find. We searched for batteries for our Dewalt drill and this is the only site( that had it and at a good price. Works fantastic and is a great deal.

When i drill with my 18volt cordless, and the bit catches it makes an awful grinding noise inside the drill, its not the adjustable clutch set low. its set on drill?

Your speed switch is between gears, pull the trigger lightly and slide the speed switch back and fourth until it is fully engaged. Also turn the clutch setting all the way down then all the way back to lock it is not uncommon for them to get dodgy.

Intermittent speeds on dewalt 928 in both high and low ranges. Corrects sometimes with shaking the driver or knocking it on something. Has New battery. Replaced the brushes set, but that didn't seem to do...

It may be the trigger speed-control module, a loose wire connection, a bad reversing switch, or the battery connections within the tool. If you can remove a cover so that the tool can still run, tap and move wires with a wooden or plastic stick carefully. Don't use metal as a short circuit can cause a large amount of current to flow and possibly damage the new battery. Good luck!

Faulty chuck and faulty speed switch?

The chuck issue you discribe is normal for those drills. The issue of the drill being tricky to shift from low to high, as a Milwaukee service center we have change many of the gearboxes in the 2601-22 drills, they are known for this issue. If you can still get it to change speeds by pushing the trigger a little bit its probably still OK (I know its a pain but alot of them do that) If it gets any worse or you can't shift it at all, the gearbox must be changed. Take it to a Milwaukee service center and they will change it out under warranty (5 yrs on that drill)

Engine starts but dies when I pull throttle trigger

you need to adjust the high speed needle turn it out in 1/4 increments as you throttle it, low speed may have to come out alittle but do high speed first. I had to answer this as I use to have a pastor john in sturgeon bay, miss him alot.
