Most likely it's your inverter board, possibly your screen, almost certainly not your motherboard

Use brightness controls at the top of the keyboard and see if you can make it brighter. If not, try an external monitor. If the external is good, then the mother board is too and the screen might need re-attaching/replacing. If the dongle is good and the external screen gets nothing, your logic board might be toast.

Disconnect the connection from mother board to display screen. The only, it will respond to external monitor.

Screen looks like notebook paper

You can try an external monitor if the external monitor has the same lines then its the video chip on the mother board. But if the lines are not on the external monitor then it's the LCD on the laptop.

HP Mini-1101 Atom 1.6GHz 10.1in 2GB 160GB Laptop. Its screen has turned green.Nothing visible. where could be the problem. Thanks

The problem could be with the monitor or the mother board. I would suggest you to take it to the Authorized Service Center.

Just to confirm, I would also suggest you to get the display connected to an external monitor. This could help you to confirm, whether the problem is with the monitor or the mother board. To do this
Connect a external monitor by fixing the wires to the display out and toggling the display from the laptop to the external monitor by pressing Fn + F5

My screen is not working on laptop . I hooked it tp another moniter and I get start up and works fine. I thinks its could be 1)wire from mother board to screen. 2)Inveter gone bad. 3)Back light . Any ideas...

you can try to change wire but extremely hard to do so. most like your monitor has blown and to fix this problem you have to get the exactly same monitor for the laptop your better off hooking it up to and external monitor.

My laptop turns on, but there's nothing on the screen. It's black.

It will either be your motherboard or LCD. The first thing you want to do it hookup an external monitor to your laptop and then power it on. If you get normal video on your external monitor then it is an issue with your LCD that can either be the cable that connects the LCD to the mother board or the LCD itself.

If you get no video at all on the laptop or the 2nd monitor then it is a problem with your motherboard and you will need to have that replaced. Be sure to test for video on the 2nd monitor with the laptop closed and then opened. Also, make sure you press the function keys on the keyboard to switch displays. It would be no fun to think the mother board was bad when it was really the LCD and you just forgot to enable the external port :)

Good luck!
