Question about Nikon COOLPIX S60 Digital Camera

Trouble viewing pictures transfered to the memory card

Hi Folks,

I am trying to suprise my wife with a Canon powershot 1200is for her birthday, and add to the suprise by putting a bunch of pictures of her friends/family on the camera. So when she turns it on there will be lots of pictures wishing her a happy birthday.

Peole have sent lots of pictures (.jpg) and videos (.avi format to match the canon) but when I put them on the camera memory card they will not play back on the camera. They do not show up at all on the camera. When I check the card via memory card reader on my computer everything is there and I can of course view them.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you kindly,

Adam

Most cameras, such as yours, will not display pictures that were not taken on the same camera (or at least one the same model).

Try using the memory card instead to transfer the pictures?
If you dont have a card reader, they can be bought for very cheap.

Most pictures that I take with my Canon powershot SD 1200is, come out blurry.

Try pressing the shutter button halfway before you take your picture. This opens the lens for exposure and also triggers autofocus based on your camera settings. Once you do that and aim your camera properly, you can press the button all the way to take a photo.

My wife's camera seems to work fine, but after taking a picture it does not store the image on the memory card. Any suggestions?

dear sir,

the first suspect should be your memory card, ahich has either worn out or being corrupted or being infected by viruses, put the memory card in a card reader and format it and use............

if the memory card works fine in other cameras, then ur camera is being affected by virus ahile you have transfered datas to any untrusted devices...........

thank you..take care..............

Unable to download photos from Canon sx20 is

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

You can download a manual and order a USB cable from the manufacturer's web site at http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=221&modelid=8775

The process only works one way...you can download pictures taken on your camera to your computer but you cannot download pictures from your computer to the card and play them back on your camera.

Incompatible jpeg

Did you transfer the pictures back and forth from the camera to computer before you noticed this? If you did that, you would be changing the format that the camera recognizes thus preventing you to review those pictures on your camera again. This is normal and does not affect the picture as long as you can view them on your computer.

Unidentified Images.

I would try formating the card using the camera (menu - setup - format) - THIS WILL ERASE ALL THE PICTURES YOU CURRENTLY HAVE ON YOUR CARD, so before you do this you may want to get a memory card reader and transfer the pictures (click and drag) to your computer. As to using the 4GB card...you will have to check with canon if a card that size if compatable. Not all cameras work with SD cards larger than 2GB.
