Unfortunately the answer to your question is 'NO'
You require a TV with either a HDMI / DVI .Component connections on it.
If you looking to purchase a New tv to be able to watch HD on then I would get a TV with HDMI ports on the back.

Hope this helped you out. Please Leave a Thumbs up it this did.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

Is this tv hd ready?

Yes, it should be HD ready. There should be a small label on the front of the TV if so (provided it has not been removed). You will need a HD cable box, convertor or HD satellite box (Direct TV or Dish Network) to view HD broadcasts (even from free over-the-air HD broadcasts if you live within range of a local broadcasting station). I had the same, or very similar TV but upgraded to flat screen plasma set.

Can not get all HD chanels

You have to pay subscription to your service provider for the HD channels you want to view. You cannot get them free unless it is designated so. Please check with your Service provider which channels are available on HD transmission. If you still do not get them then there is a signal transmission defect which have to be rectified by your Service Provider. There is nothing wrong with your TV and You can view HD videos/pictures/TV programs.

Is this TV HD capable?

This is not an HDTV. However, that does not mean you cannot use it to view the HD channels with DirecTV, you just wont be able to view them in hi-def. Use the component inputs from the directv tuner and plug those into the proper component inputs of your JVC. Once you see the DirecTV picture on the screen, go into menu... setup (with the directTV remote) and make sure that the only resolution checked is 480i. DirecTV with 'downconvert' those cannels to standard def, and they will still look pretty good though the component connection...

... now, in answer to your next question: "What exactly do I need to view HDTV with DirecTV?"...

1. A television that will accept 720p or 1080i signals.
2. A DirecTV HD Tuner.
3. Any DirecTV service BUT you must purchase the HD pack so that they will 'unlock' the HD channels
4. The proper cables to hook in between your DirecTV HD receiver and your HD-capable TV/Monitor. You may use either HDMI or component video cables, so long as your TV will accept them. Tune your TV input accordingly. When using component video cables, you must also run a separate cable(s) for audio...

Take care,
Rob

ps. DirecTV HD tuners do not have an RF 'out'. ("coaxial or ch3/4 connection")

My hd tv

to view anything in High definition you have to connect to your tv using either the DVI, Component or HDMI inputs. Your cam or anything you want to view HD videos from will need to have a lead to suit these inputs, the component lead will consist of an input from camera to five seperate coloured leads or an oblong DVI connector or HDMI which looks similair to a usb connector. You will need then on your tv to select the resolution of 720P or 1080I to view the HD picture.
