Question about Maytag HAV3460AWW Top Load Washer
The water pump has a metal grease retainer that works its wau out of the pully to the point that it digs into the housing and stops the pump -- as a skilled fix-it person I used a hack saw to release the dug-in end and plyers to squeeze the retainer back in position. Then I sealed it in with jb-weld . However its best to buy a new one.
