I think, it's bad backlight. you need to replace the backlight or the lcd.

SVA VR-17s, I inadvertantly reversed the 12v power. I plugged it in and heard a snap! That was all she wrote. Can I replace a diode or other component?

It difficult to say what thing or things got damaged when they are reversed biased. If you are lucky it could just be a fuse, otherwise there could be a lot of components that could be damaged by the reversal. Only way to know the extend of the damage is to pop open the case and look inside. I would check if it has a fuse first and the condition of it and look for any obvious parts that were blown up. Unless you know how to troubleshoot electronics, it not worth the trouble to try to see if you can fix it considering how affordable LCD monitors have gotten.

Compaq FS7600 Monitor adjust menu stuck onscreen and all adjustments turn to highest settings

Sounds like a button is stuck.
And other people are having the same problem.

One thing you could try is turn the monitor off, press all the buttons at once and turn it back on while holding the buttons in. This might error out the problem. though if it does make the menu go away, the next time you start it up the problem will be back.

the best way to troubleshoot would be to open the casing and test the front buttons for shorts.

I do not recommend opening the casing unless you know what you are doing, as this is an older crt and will have very high voltage internals.

Do not pay anyone to fix this for you as you can find decent used lcd's for good prices now days.

Let me know how this goes.

My monitor is not responding to anything. what can i do aside from rebooting?

do you see the light blinking in the monitor? I mean the POWER led light up? If so, then the monitor is ok and is working good. It is your CPU which has a problem and not sending digital signal for the monitor to display.
Try to turn off your computer. After 3 minutes turn it back on. then notice if you will hear a short beep from the CPU. That signals a successful video initialization. If you went through that process, then your computer will get back to life.
However, if you dont hear a short beep from the CPU, then definitely your CPU is frozen therefore there is nothing to display to the monitor.
You need to open the CPU case, pull out memory modules then plug them back in. Then try booting.
If not successful, try to open case and pull out the processor. Put it back in after 30 seconds. Try booting again.
Do ALL THESE while your PC is UNPLUGGED.
Good luck.

This monitor is know for a lot of parts that go bad, luckily they are usually the same ones.
If you are a technician or know one who can help you. Below is a list of part to repair/replace once the case is opened. (dont try this if your unfamilier with working on electronics.

1) F601= 2A Fuse
2) C605= 68uf 400v (must change)
3) R615= 0.68ohm 1watt
4) Q601= SSS6N60A
5) R613= 1Kohm 1/8watt (value changed to 2.3Kohm or higher)
6) R623= 4.7ohm 1/8watt (value changed to 7.2ohm or higher)
7) D604= 1N4148
8) IC601=UC3842B
9) C707 & C703= 1000uF 16V (must change, because of bad ESR value) secondary filter capacitor.
This problem of dell e151fp lcd monitor, you just need to resolder the inverter section (bad points or dry joint) and also check the capacitor value with ESR meter. It will solve your problems.

Problem with my keyboard

You problem is so many application programs run in services of the system, these are cause by virus attack, system specification is low. memory damage and harddrive mulfunction.

It is good if only the system is the problem you can reinstall the windows, however if the memory or the hard disk, you should replace that.

In this case , first , scan your system sith potent antivirus,
you can click this

or try replacing the keyboard, memory. and the last is the hard disk.

If it is new hard drive then you should install the operating system on it.

No audio sound

Run the software that came witht he monitor, then check if you are sending the signal to the monitor and not your old soundcard. There should be

open "Open volume control" on the speaker icon in lower right corner of your screen.

click options/Properties

the "mixer device combo box" will give you all the options you can send the sound signal to, in my case realtek audio, webcam.

the acer LCD should be there, if not try to figure out why.

I dont have an acer monitor, but this should get you going in the right direction.

Lcd monitor goes white

The E151FPb's seem to have a problem of this sort. After doing some research online I've found that the most common problem is a few dry solder joints on the large circuit board inside the monitor. There was also some talk of a connector suffering from heat creep that sound be connected better on the inside, but usually that would make the screen turn black if it were to become disconnected. The monitor can be opened by unscrewing all the screws on the back, there should be 6 screws you need to pull out before being able to open the case. After those, insert a thin, but strong piece of metal into the side and sort of twist/slide it along the side and it should pop open some clips and just work your way around the perimeter. After that it's just some simple and obvious screws to get to the circuit boards.
