Honeywell cm61 controller

Don't know how to operaye a honywell cm61 temperature controller

Posted by on

  • Andy Priest Mar 18, 2008

I have a problem with my honeywell cm61 controller when in auto mode I have set 4 on off times and left the remaining two blank. During the night and early afternoon the controller overrides this and reverts to a default temperature. This brings on the boiler when i do not want it to come on. When looking at the display when this happens there is a small 'opt' written on the display as well as the auto. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Andy

Turn off ‘Optimum Start’
Step 1 Put the thermostat in the OFF position.

Step 2 Press 3 buttons together (at the same time) which are the INFORMATION BUTTON (i) and PROGRAM BUTTONS 3 & 4.
This will show a code of ICL 1 – now let go of the buttons.

Step 3 Press PROGRAM BUTTON 2.
This will now show a code of 30t 1

Step 4 Press the + BUTTON (on the left of the display), tap through until you reach 15 OP 1

Step 5 With the TEMPERATURE DOWN BUTTON; change the 01 to a FLASHING 0. Confirm the FLASHING 0 with the INFORMATION BUTTON ( i ). The 0 will now be static.

Step 6 Put the Thermostat back in the ‘AUTO’ position.
‘OPTIMUM START’ is now switched off.

I had the same problem and the fact is the system is trying to predict how long it is going to take to get to the temperature at the time required. From the PDF in the previous posting you need to set the Optimisation parameter.

Red LED on honeywell r6660d

The problem is that the 2 units are "not speaking to each other". this could be caused by low batteries or a loss in signal caused by a powercut or an objection in the way of the 2 units.

first you need to turn the power off to the r666od (or otherwise known as the HC60NG) for 10 secs, then turn back on. then hold the grey button in for 15 secs. release then hold in for a further 5 secs.

go to the honeywell cm61 press the off button. hold temp up. temp down and prog 1 in for 3 secs until the dipslay goes to INST. at this point release all 3 buttons then press the i button until a beacon starts flashing.

this is now the end to your problem.

N.B the reason the green light was on is because the man override button will have been pressed.

hope this helps

Radiators cold when thermo says otherwise !

First, check to see if the battery in the stat is good. If you can move the manual temp up and down...causing the relay to click on and off, the unit ought to work. If not the battery is bad or the stat is. IF THE UNIT IS ON 110V, you can't do the following:

If this is a two wire connection, simply short them out. If the heat comes on, the stat is bad. If not, the relay package is likely defective. You may want to get help from someone who knows electrical items.

My heat is turning on but the fan isnt working. my honeywell thermostat is showing a flame and a blinking battery, and i know nothing about this thermostat, we just moved in . Can u help?

This is not a PC problem
Symptom
Heating comes on, but sometimes it
gets too hot, sometimes too cold.
Neutral not connected
Cure
Check wiring in room thermostat. Look for a
connection to the Neutral terminal (N 2 on
the Honeywell T6060, T6160, and T6360).
Make sure that it is connected (check
continuity).
If there is no neutral available, replace with a
two-wire thermostat, e.g., CT200, CM61 or
CM67. These will also offer extra energy
savings, (Without a neutral connection, the anticipator within the room thermostat does not work,
so the temperature control reduces from ± ½ºC to ±3ºC. People can feel a six degree
temperature swing. Then, if they try to adjust the room thermostat to overcome the
problem, the temperature swings become even worse.)
