    Hey Otacon,

Yes...chapter selection-could this dvd possibly not have this feature?

I am finding that I get a circle with a slash through it for even when hitting the pause bottom on the dvd player as well.

You always say press a button on your remote.
Is this feature only exists within the remote and can not be selected directly on the dvd player? I am jumping to conclusions now... but maybe I just need to find a proper remote that can operate this feature. (The current one - seems to only want to turn the player off and on and play and stop and FF 2X, 4X, 6X, 8X.) This is the same funcionality on the remote.

FYI - I have a pause button on both the dvd player and the remote... by pressing either one I get the circle with the slash through it..... so it seems there my be something faulty with the player and maybe not the remote.

    Thanks

    Otacon,

The problem is on a regular manufactured Blockbuster DVD.

And don't forget-the pause button doesn not allow me to pause the movie either.... on the player or the remote. I get the circle with the slash through it.

Hi,

Do you mean to select a chapter?

If it's scene/chapter selection then firstly...the DVD disc has to have it for you to access it. To access it, press the disc menu button (on your remote) and from there you can select chapter/scene selection if present. You can also access it by pressing the title menu button (on your remote) if present.

If it is a burnt copy, it could be that the problem lies with the disc and not your player.

Unable to access all TV channels from my cable box
  1. You can only tune in to your cable channels on Channel 3 and you may have to use the remote for your cable box to select program channels.
Viewing resolution is poor in dim movie/TV scenes
  1. Apart from the RCA connections, try to disconnect any other video output cable from the connectors (e.g. S-Video) on the DVD player; or/and
  2. If there are other RCA inputs on the TV, you may try to connect the video and audio output to them.

DVD player won't play new movies

Try this

1.While the previews are playing, press the Menu Button on your DVD player remote to access the DVD's Main Menu.
2.Go to Scene Selection and press your Enter or Ok button on your DVD player remote.
3.Highlight Scene 2 and press the Enter or Ok button. This will start the DVD in Scene 2.

Purchased the DP300 at the Goodwill. The DVD has the remote control;however, I do not know how to use the remote control. I used the red, yellow, and white connector to my the DVD player and to the TV but...

with regard to using the remote control :

Make sure the batteries in the remote are working (they go in the back of the remote at the bottom).

Turn on the DVD player with the power button on the DP300 itself (lower left). Open the dvd tray either with the remote (press open/close button, upper right) or with the button on the DP300. Put a DVD in the tray and close it with the remote or the button on the DP300. The DVD should load.

Use the arrow buttons in the centre of the remote to select choices from the onscreen menu of the DVD. Press Play (centre of the 4 arrow buttons) to activate the choice you want. For example, if you want to play a movie, use the arrow buttons to go up or down until "play movie" is selected, then hit PLAY, and movie will play. If you want to choose a scene/chapter of the movie, use arrow buttons to go up or down until Scene Selection or Chapter is selected (highlighted), and press PLAY. This should bring up a list of the scenes or chapters. Use the arrow buttons to select the one you want, then hit PLAY, and that scene should play.

If the DVD tray is taking less than 20 seconds to operate, there is likely no problem. If it is taking more, there may be. I think the mechanism that opens and closes the tray is often the first thing to stop working on DVD and CD players.

Plays disc up to point where the movie should start and just keep restarting over and over?

I had a similar issue a while back. It didn't do it every time, just on one DVD.
When given the choice, go to "scene selection" instead of "play", and select scene 1. This bypasses the loop that the "play DVD" is on, and takes you straight to the movie.
Hope this helps!

How do I transfer the mini DVD to Movie Maker

With your Recorded DVD-R Disc "Finalized", and in the DVD player on your computer, you should be able to browse to your videos with Movie Maker.

In MovieMaker, on the left side where it lists:
Movie Tasks
1. Capture Video
Capture from Video device
Import video . . .

You want to "Import Video", by clicking that and browsing to the DVD-R to find what could be MPG files, or VOB files. They're both MP2 DVD format video and audio files.

Tip: Right Clicking in the Import Video Dialogue Box where the files are listed and selecting View / Thumbnails, will present a view of the scenes in each video.

Is there an input select?

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Can't forward to a scene in the middle of a movie

When this Sign comes up it means that you cannot Forward.
You usually get this at the start of some dvd movies.
It is basically to stop you forwarding through the advertisements.
Ive never (YET) seen this (Logo) in the middle of a film denying you to Fast-Forward to a particular point or where you SHOULD be able to select a scene.
I can only presume this Film you have is either a pirate(IM NOT suggesting that you deal with pirate copies)
or a foreign movie.
