Connecting the camera to the computer only drains the battery faster since the camera has to expend juice to communicate with the computer, even if only to say it has nothing to say. You need to use the battery charger to charge the battery.

Yes the only way to charge the battery is by the charger. Sorry. I wish they would charge from the USB ports

Phone suddenly off and not start

1-
  • Hold the power button down for five seconds or more. This can reset the phone on many models and possibly cause a reboot if the phone has frozen. If that doesn't work, take the battery out of the phone and wait at least 30 seconds. With the power source gone for an extended period of time, any glitches preventing the phone from turning on should be removed. After 30 to 60 seconds, replace the battery and see if the phone turns on.

  • 2-The simplest explanation is that the battery is dead. Grab either a wall or car charger and plug the phone into a power source. Wait at least two minutes before trying to turn it on because if the battery is completely dead, it will need a moment to recharge enough power to turn the phone on. If the phone still does not turn on, then the battery or the charger may be faulty. Borrow someone else's charger and see if an alternate charger can get the battery to respond. Otherwise, you may need to replace the battery in your phone.

  • 3-If your phone is computer compatible (like the iPhone), use your computer to reset it through a USB cable. The phone may have come with a computer program when you purchased it. The program goes on your hard drive and will recognize and access your phone when the phone is connected to the computer via the USB cable. The iPhone uses iTunes for this purpose. Once the phone is plugged into the computer, access the program and click the "Restore" button. This can erase contacts, photos, calendars and other data but should restore your phone back to working order. It will also restore any information from the phone that you had previously backed-up on the computer, such as text messages and settings.

My polaroid t831 is completly dead. i lost my battery charger and i only have the computer USB charger left. but it doesn't work at all. I have tried to look online for polaroid chargers but i had no luck...

I found chargers and batteries for this camera by searching Amazon for "polaroid t831". There are also cheap universal chargers that will charge any small camera or phone battery, like THIS ONE

Most cameras don't charge from the USB cable.

I have a 2009 tmobile sidekick and i cant turn it on

You'll need to use the original AC charger that came with the phone as most computer USB ports are not capable of producing the power necessary to bring a battery up from being completely dead. If that doesn't work (your phone should be able to power up within an hour or two of plugging in the AC charger), you'll need to get a new battery.

The phone has been dead for more than a year

You cannot usually charge a totally flat battery from the USB port. These are only used to "Top UP" the battery... You need to replace it with a fully charged one,and then us the USB to keep it fully charged.

I have a pentex optio m60 it was okey but suddenly it saying battery depleted could me please tell me what is the solution for that and why does it happen

There could be a couple reasons for this:
1. When you have the battery in the charger, does it indicate that the battery is dead or fully charged. I would suggest placing the battery in a universal charger to check to see what the rating is on the battery, a universal charger will indicate the true power left. If the universal charger shows the battery is drained but your charger says it's full, you have a bad charger. If they both indicate full but camera says dead, you have either a power supply issue in the camera or the main board cannot read how much life is actually left in the battery. If your charger says full and the universal says empty, your battery is malfunctioning.
2. Does the camera turn off when it says battery depleted or does it simply keep telling that it's depleted. If the unit doesn't shut off, you have a firmware issue that needs technical repair on. That specific model does not allow you to download updates via USB from your computer, you need to send it to Pentax for repair.

Make sure you have an original OEM charger for the MDA. Many of the knock off chargers don't provide the right amperage for the device. What happens is that since the phone is completely dead, it can't regulate how many amps the battery should get during the charge and an incorrect charge current won't charge the battery. I'm guessing that someone sold you a Motorola RAZR charger or another knockoff made for the RAZR. This might charge your phone when the battery is working, but not when it's DEAD. Also you won't have luck plugging it into a computer USB cable because, again, the phone can't tell the computer what charge to send and most computers only produce <0.5 amps in the USB port.

Get a charger that states it is an OEM (original eqipment manufacturer) device or one that is specifically designed for the MDA (or Cingular 8125). eBay is full of them.

Bad charger (probably won't work for a dead battery)

Good Charger (correct amperage and designated for the MDA)

Internal battery won't charge

Common issue. Steps to troubleshoot/solve:
1. Pull off face, press reset tab.
2. If unit wont turn on or if turns off immediately, connect to home computer using mini usb on side of gps (any usb cord that fits will do). This will charge the internal gps battery, which is discharged.
3. You will not be able to see the gps charge indicator while the usb cord is plugged into the unit. To check charge level, disconnect it, turn it on, and note the large "battery" icon.
4 Do you have a dead internal battery? If the gps holds a charge from your computer usb port, you don't.
5. If you have a dead battery, Google DIY replacement. With some soldering it can done for $15 total.
6. If you don't have a dead battery, the issue is charging from the cigarette lighter socket. Your car socket may have blown a fuse (check car manual). Your charger unit may have blown a fuse (unscrew the tip, check fuse inside). Also, some car sockets don't work when the ignition is off. Test yours.
7. There is a good chance the connection of the charger wire to the gps cradle is the problem. Fiddle with that. Replacement cradles are available for the c340 at about $25.
8. If your unit is not charging from the cradle/socket, buy a 12v usb cord. Plug into socket and into usb port of the gps. This is a workaround or alternative to buying a new cradle.
9. IMPORTANT: observe the "battery" icon while driving, esp. if you have doubts about charging. Basically, if you can see the icon, you're not connected to an outside (car or computer) power source. That is, if you can see the battery-charge indication, it means your battery is currently discharging and unless you get another power source to work it will be dead in a few hours.
