I would check behind the dryer to see if the vent is crushed. Everytime you lean against the dryer there is a chance of crushing the elbo on the back of the dryer restriction air flow. Very common problem.

I am renting a house that has an old whirlpool stackable washer/dryer combo. The dryer doesn't heat up very much and it takes 3 hours to dry a small load. Landlord had a tech look at it and found...

Under normal operating conditions, the hot air blown into a clothes dryer's tumbler reaches a temperature of about 175 degrees Celsius.
If its getting hot at all, the problem is with the amount of air that it is dispensing, maybe due to the fan not turning or the duct being plugged up.
Either way there is a problem that needs to be examined.

go to the end of the vent and actually feel if there is air coming out if not you either missed a plugged vent or the blower is not working. deep inside the lint trap is a hard spot to find it plugged als can you hear the drum spinning

Whirlpool gas dryer not hot enough .With small or large loads its taking over an hour to dry. Is there coils I can check?? Not sure what to do

This sounds like dryer vent has to much lint in it. It needs to be cleaned all the wall to outside of house. It will hold moisture in and not let clothes dry..

Dryer not drying

look at the vent outside and see if it closing or even has a cover this allows cold air inside the dryer and cause it to take longer to dry

My whirlpool duet dryer is taking 3 cycles to dry????

have you checked your lint trap to make sure that it is clean after every load? Also the lint vent to the outside may be clogged and will not let the dryer vent like it should. This is dangerous. So check and replace if needed.

NOT GETTING HOT ENOUGH TO DRY TOWELS IN AN HOUR

It takes the dryer forever to dry a load of clothing, no matter how many pieces or thickness. Yes, I have already checked the vents out of the dryer, there not clogged. Any other suggestions?
