Can I replace straight across the Samsung CD ROM SC14A with a SonyCRX230AE CD-R/RW using the same cable currently hooked up to the Samsung? Thanks for any help you can give

- I installed the Sony burner and the sytem would not boot up. In other words it would go so far then freeze. I used a new cable and an old. I took it out and put the samsung back..
