Runs most of the time night and day. All functions work. The refrig. is kept clean, nothing blocking anything except I may go nuts if this keeps-up.

Hello! panda1,
You are fine, if all is working, just leave it, and enjoy it.
Problelms that may arise: After adjustments, ice cream to soft; milk to warm, vegetables frozen, eggs frozen, temperature not controlled. Typical of this units.
Since this is a energy saving unit, It tends to use more energy being that the compressor is low rated. The evaporator fan runs a lot, the defrost cycles run multiple of times, noisy, grumbles, and can keep you awake, if one keeps a ear to it. Just forget it. Once in a while, look at the bottom of the freezer, move some items, look at the coil , in back, an see if there is any ice build up, Some is ok. It should be clean, clear after a defrost cycle. (See input from peyton32034) may be additionally useful.. Regards, fmauka

Open door let too much moisture into refrigerator. (The cooling coils, behind the back wall of the freezer compartment, are blocked with frost) If you unplug the refrig for a day or so it will work again, or you can take the back wall out from inside the freezer and melt the frost with a hair blower.

I have a Kenmore side by side refrig. and the freezer side keeps getting full of frost, and the refrig. side is barely cold, and keeps spoiling food. I've had a tech come out and check things out and...

Either your defrost element or timer is bad or your fridge is low on freon. Frost is a sign of outside air getting in but it can also be a sign of the defrost heating element not kicking in and the defrost timer turns it on for a few minutes each day and a defrost limit keeps it from getting two warm during the defrost cycle. good luck hope this helps

Every couple of days lots of water runs out on the floor.

It sounds like the defrost drain is clogged up. On some models there is a removeable white pull out cup located in the center back wall at the top in the refrigerator section. It is connected to a tube on the back of the refrigertor. If that is blocked water will be in the bottom under the crisper drawers.

Refrig/Freezer not cooling

"compressor not functioning". You Probably need a New Compressor. I have a Family Member whos Refrig/Freezer Compressor had to be replaced under Warranty when it was only 2 years Old.

GE side by side Refrig. with evaporator iced up solid.

Yes ill be glad to help John. Your refrigerant level is fine. Remove the motherboard axcess panel on rear of refrig. Locate 3 wire blue plastic connector on bottom of board. Wires are labeled Comp, Line, Def. Jump Line to Def and see if heater gets hot. If nothing happens than replace the heater. Let me know what happens.
