This is usually caused by a problem with the video card, or the memory on the video card.

Laptop Beeps on start up 1 long and two short beeps

You've checked the memory board/card, but have you tried using another memory card? The 1 long followed by 2 short beeps indicates that there's a problem with the memory card. Try to remove the memory card, then wipe the gold traces with a dry cloth and put it back in.

If you try replacing the memory card but you get the same problem, then proceed with the video card.

My hp dv6000 laptop having start up issue, it start and make some noice and after that dont go anywhere just black screen. please help

If the noise is in the form of certain beeps, long and short, that is the system's way of telling you theres something wrong with a component.
If you can see the BIOS posting, usually a bunch of technical words and numbers appearing at the beginning, and/or the manufacturer's logo, it's probably a problem with your operative system (vista or XP).
If nothing shows up on the screen at all then the problem is more serious. You should contact HP's support department.

When I turn it on I get three beeps and nothing else

Hi,

The 3 beeps are correct diagnosis for the screen problems.

reboot, keep tapping F8, till you get to
the start up screen ( black dos screen )

Try the last known good first at the top, let it roll.

If this fails, try safe mode, let it boot up, then try a system restore,
start, all progz, accessories, system tools, system restore, try go back in time.

If you cannot get into the "black" start up screen at all, your video card, has failed.

because you should get minimum of VGA graphics in safe mode.

if you do, then the video driver is corrupted and needs updating

Regards
Richard.

One long beep, two shorter beeps - HP laptop will not start up

Hi...
I had the same problem...
The solution is only temporary and you will have to reapply it after around 5 to 6 boots cuz it'll just happen again (the beep syndrome).

Just heat up the laptop by turning it on and covering its air vents with your hands.

Then after you hear the beeps turn it off.
Turn the laptop on again and immediately turn it over upside down with the lid closed ofcoarse (simply put it on its back).Hopefully you wont hear the beeps and when you open up the laptop lcd...voila display.
