Pseroy, If you visit YOUTUBE check out the longer video clips of LCD monitor disassembly and repair of the most common type of failure modes that ALL BRANDS have. Whenever posting to this site it would be nice if we could also get a little bit of history-- like age of unit and approx total hours of "on" time. My best guess is that the "switch-mode-power-supply" has finally bit the dirt. Popping sound was the "electrolytic filter capacitors" venting to the atmosphere because they couldn't stand the heat in the unit any longer. In any case a tech should evaluate unit or if it is >3-4 yrs old look to trade in for new. also check web for swollen capacitors in lcd monitors and "cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes" and their power source which is called an INVERTER circuit. Here is quick and dirty lesson. Monitor SMPS makes dc voltage for inverter (electronic ballast) circuit which makes 800-1200 volts ac to light up the CCFT's. You are dealing with something similar to the new screw-in curlie-Q CFL lightbulbs only their "ballasts" are dirt cheap and are called "converters" AC to AC. Hope this info was of some help. Heard a loud cracking sound and the screen to my Toshiba plasma 50" went dark

The popping sounds are bad capacitors arcing at the high voltage input area. You need to change parts on the power supply and repair the high voltage control card located on the X-sustain..... or you can just order a new power supply board and X-sustain here: CLICK

I own a Samsung HL-R5067W 50'' DLP. Set is about 3 years old. Recently I heard a loud pop while viewing, picture distorted, but never went blank. I turned set off. When turned on again a loud whining noise...

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.

My aopen f2925 monitor has a green tint.

The solution: hidden menu within the main menu itself. Hold the Menu button down while pressing Power to power on, and release power button only when the screen comes up, still holding the menu button. The menu will appear and there will now be a hidden selection, "Auto Color", printed in a red-on-black font at the bottom of the menu. Use the +/- buttons to access it, and press Menu. My green/yellow tint went away! Now my picture works great, and the setting lasts through Auto-Adjusts and Resets!
