Question about ViewSonic Precision Pro8100 Projector

Open Question

Faint Lines on Viewsonic pro8100 projector

It appears that this problem is common for this projector. The problem can be solved by unplugging it each time? Crappy, but for me it's intermittent and frustrating. You can send it back to Viewsonic, but risk getting the same problem in another projector or someother issue more serious? One person suggested a timer that shuts it down fully each night? I will probabaly tray that too. So disappointed.

SOURCE: Viewsonic PJ556d shuts down after 30-60 seconds

My solution sounds dumb, I had the same issue. Took the lamp cover off the bottom. The screws were loose holding in the lamp. Maybe they heat and expand and eventually work their way out and the lamp doesn't make good contact. Just tightened mine up, the unit would power off after 45 minutes prior. Been on now for 5 hours, no trouble.

SOURCE: the projector would not shut was not

if the lamp shuts off and the projector still runs, it's a cool down mode, and will shut off when it reaches a low enough temp. if the lamp doesn't shut off and none of the keys work, the keypad may be faulty. or locked. some projectors have a keypad lock feature that makes it so only the remote can be used. check your manual for keypad lock/unlock.

SOURCE: I have a Viewsonic PJ558D

You need to reset the lamp timer. This is likely your problem since you changed the lamp.
Turn the projector on. open the menu. Go to advanced. Scroll down to the first option which should be auto source. Make sure this option is checked. While on this option press right once, left twice, right 3 times, then left 4 times. Another menu will appear. Scroll to lamp time and push enter. This will take it back to zero.

Unit will not turn on at all

if you are not receiving any lights or not powering up at all. I would check the fuse. Typically the fuse is located in the projector near where you plug the power cord. Ck to see if the fuse is good or bad by visual or meter.

When I turn on my ViewSonic Precision 1080P projector on the indicator status light flashes red and sometimes the projector still comes on but currently it is not interfacing with the receiver. I just see...

I found out how to reset the "clean" icon on the status menu and then moved some connecting wires around on my receiver. They were not totally connected. works great now. Thanks
