My built in microphone is not working properly,

im having trouble with my toshiba built in microphone. Im unable to use it in video chats as i literally have to get close to the microphone and almost shout for the other person to hear me.

Have you looked into the settings inside windows at all? You can adjust the input levels and that might help.
