Question about Carrier XHB123D X/Y Series Heat/Cool Air Conditioner
I have a Weather Maker 8000 by Carrier and one day the furnace wouldn't start and it would come over every few hours like it was working on its own. Sometimes the thermostat would control it and other times it would so we called the place that installed the furnace and they came out and turns out the control board was dirty and he said when the board gets dirty the furnace has problems communicating with all the circuits and such and this was preventing the thermostat from sending a signal to start the furnace.
Inspect flame sensor, (located in burner area, opposite side of hot surface ignitor). If the tip of sensor have a white carbon build up on it, it needs to be removed and cleaned, Good luck.
