Question about Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Not sucking up the dirty water or it's sucking up water but it's not filling the recovery tank. I've tried reattaching the lid of the recovery tank and it doesn't look like it is sitting quite right.

This is one possibility. other things to look are the screen filter on the machine. intake hose behind the motor. ensure that accessory hose cover is closed when extracting water from the floor.

It will not pick up the water. Help !!!!!

Problem #1 - My Steamvac is not Sucking!
If your Hoover Steamvac was working properly and suddenly it is not sucking any water, nine times out of ten, the culprit is the lid on the lower recovery tank. The lid on the lower tank (or dirty water tank) needs to hinge at the front and snap down at the back in order to creat a proper seal. If the lid snaps on but is not locked on at the front, you will not get any suction. Simply take the lid off, and ensure that when you put it back on, it must hinge on the front tabs of the tank.
Problem #2 - My Steamvac is still not Sucking!
Right now you are thinking that you shouldn't have let your brother borrow your Steamvac. And you are right, because he used the hose attachment and returned it with the hose still attached to the front of the tank (some models only). Now when you try to use it there isn't any suction. In this case, you are missing your tank duct. On models where the stair/upholstery hose attaches to the front of the recovery tank, one must remove a square plastic piece in order to attach the hose. This square plastic tank duct must be replaced before the Steamvac will operate properly in the upright position. hope this helps ive copied it

My Hoover Steamvac won't suck. I checked the front door thing on the dirty water tank and found a crack where the bottom of the door meets the tank. Would this stop it from working?

From your description, this would certainly need to be corrected, and yes may be the problem. Also, check the recovery tank lid to make sure that is on and latched properly. Ensure the round tube that is under the recovery tank has the gasket seal installed.

My Hoover steam vac spin scrub will not suction up the cleaning solution . Why is there no suction?

p{margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px;} Hello,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. I am sorry to read about the problem that you are having with your cleaner.

Please make sure your recovery tank and lid are installed correctly and forming proper seals. Make sure that your filter is clean of any debris. Clean the screen in the tank lid. Make sure your nozzle and squeegee (if on your model) are free of dirt/lint/hair and attached in their holsters correctly. Make sure you do not have any clogs in the hose.

To restore suction, please try the following:

*Remove dirty water tank and clean filters- main reason for low suction is dirty filter

*Verify the dirty water tank cap is not missing.

*Verify dirty water tank lid is inserted completely into unit.

*When cleaning, the yellow float inside of dirty water tank should be free moving.

• First remove your clean water tank and unplug the machine
• Remove the dirty water tank lid and push the front panel piece (square plastic sliding piece in the front of tank) down to make sure it is inserted all the way.
• When reattaching the lid, hook the tabs on the front of the lid to the tank first, then click shut in the back. Pull up on the lid firmly, it should not lift at all. If it does, try reattaching as a seal needs to be formed for suction.
• Test to see if suction has been regained.

If these suggestions do not solve your issue please call a service center.

Your cleaner has at least a 6 month warranty for manufacturing defects. This warranty begins from the date of purchase, with the original sales receipt. If you do not have the original sales receipt, the warranty may be verified at the warranty repair center by MFG or serial number.

Please visit www.Hoover.com and click on service center locator for a list of authorized dealers in your area for service and warranty assistance.

My hoover steamvac wont **** up dirty water float

Check your filter screen insde the upper tank. if your model has a wrap around filter try to pull it down about 1/2" to maximize air flow.

I can't get my Hoover Steam Vac to absorb the solution and **** up the dirty water. Can you help?

if the dirty water lid isn't on correctly then you will not get any sucktion to **** up the dirty water. the best way to put the lid on would be to put it at a 45 degree angle. put the tabs thats on the front of the recovery tank inside the lid and push down untill you hear a click. if you can lift up on the recovery tank lid in the front, then you don't have it on correctly and it's not making a seal. hope this helps. if it doesn't write me back. try this first.

Won't suck up the water

This happens when the filter on the inside of the lid for the dirty water tank is pushed all of the way up. You need to leave a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter. Or the lid for the dirty water tank is not locked down all the way around.

HOOVER SPINSCRUB WONT SUCK UP WATER...BLOWING AIR OUT

ITS THE DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT OF THE DIRTY WATER TANK (DWT). ITS NOT LINED UP.
1. TAKE LID OFF OF DWT
2. SLIDE THE LITTLE SQUARE PIECE (5'X5'X1) (THE DUCT) ON THE FRONT OF THE DWT AS FAR UP AS POSSIBLE AND IF IT BENDS FORWARD FROM THE TOP, DO THAT TOO (SOME MODELS OPEN LIKE A DOOR TOP DOWN, OTHERS JUST SLIDE UP AND OUT COMPLETELY)
3. SLIDE THAT DUCT BACK DOWN AS FAR DOWN AND BACK AS IT WILL GO.
4. PUT THE LID BACK ON BY HINGING THE FRONT LATCHES ON AND THEN SNAPPING THE BACK SIDE DOWN.
5. CHECK TO SEE IF THAT DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT IS LOOSE BY PUSHING ON IT AND SEEING IF IT MOVES UP AND DOWN.
IF IT IS, THE LID ISNT COMPLETELY ON, GO BACK TO STEP 4.
IF THE DUCT IS SNUG, CONGRATS YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE YOUR STEAM VAC **** UP THE WATER AGAIN

Carper cleaner not working

Is the duct(#11) that sits in front of the dirty water tank in place? Is the lid of the dirty water tank on tight all around. If there is a foam filter on the inside of the dirty water tank, is there a gap between the top and the filter? Also there is no heater in the unit, so the only hot water is what you fill the tank with.
