Question about Dell Computers & Internet

PC worked but now doesnt after trying to install hardware

I have just bought a second hand Dell Pecision Workstation and everything was fine and dandy. It didnt have wireless capabilities to I put in a PCI card - which it let me install the software for and picked up the wireless router but then it said it was shutting down due to a hardware failure. So I took the PCI out and it worked. Then when I turned it off and on again it won't go on - it powers up and sounds like it's running but there is nothing on the screen and something is making a beeping noise. The screen is plugged into a ATI FireGL v3100 128mb graphics card so I tried unplugging it and that didnt make any difference, I even tried taking the graphics card out and in again and no difference. Still nothing on the screen and still the beeping sound coming from the PC.

I only got this today! Please help!

It sounds like the power supply may have exceeded its capacity. Power supplies are sized by the manufacturer only for the gear they put it. If the previous owner put in another hard drive, that would be pushing it; then, when you added the PCI card - over the top.
Have the power supply tested or borrow a bigger (higher-rated) one for a test. Be sure any other power supply has all the right connectors for additional fans, SATA drives, etc.

What windows 7 ultimate drivers do i need for it to work with pecision workstation 670

You will need audio driver, possibly Network adapter driver and in some cases you may need to find the manufacturer of your optical drive by pulling out of the case to get model type and then the the driver from the manufacturer's site. Finally a chipset driver. check this site for most of the drivers.

Bios admin. lockout

Find the bios reset jumper on the motherboard and short the two pins for a few seconds with either a jumper or a small screwdriver. Do this with the main power cord disconnected. This will reset everything to the motherboard maker's default settings. Open the case and find the model number of the mo-bo. (or download and install CPU-Z, which will show all your hardware details) Then Google the model to get the manual that shows where the bios jumper is located.
An easier solution is to go back to where it was stolen from and ask the rightful owner what the password is.

Dell precision workstation t7500 won't boot. Showing solid amber.

You may have to reinstall operating system by buying a Dell cd(from amazon) that reinstalls the operating system you had on the workstation.

The screen goes blank after booting i can get to safe mode then nothing bought a new battery nothing

Simple test: boot from a Linux Live-Cd like
http://www.mandriva.com/en/downloads/one/
If everything works just fine with it then you have a corrupted driver that has completely messed up Windows - the only thing left is to use Mandriva to recover your files then reinstall.
If it behaves the same then it's a hardware problem on the motherboard, the video chip is failing and the entire motherboard will have to be replaced. It will be cheaper to buy a good second-hand laptop than to fix this one.

Before installing a Windoze server (no matter what flavour) you always need to verify the compatibility (drivers) with the machine's hardware... A Windoze XP driver will rarely work for a server environment... Micro$oft built all servers version to run in server machine type... further more you also need to verify softwar compatibility as well... as not all workstation software is compatible with server environments... and your machine advertises that it is a WORKSTATION NOT A SERVER...

Have you tried a differnt video card?  Also disconnect everything including the hard drive to see if the system will POST.  If it does, them start connecting 1 item at a time.

Installing Problems

It's a hardware incompatibility with windows vista. for example your graphics card on your Inspiron might not be fully supported in windows vista and your Laptop's graphics card is supported by Vista. Most of the times we can find this incompatibility is with graphics cards. Download and install the newest drivers for your inspiron's graphics card. I have seen your inspiron has an ATI Radeon X1300 graphics card. The windows Vista drivers can be downloaded here http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32
