Question about LG 50PX5D 50 in. Plasma HDTV
You may have problem with the power supply. The only thing in a TV that can make loud pops is high voltage. There are seriously HIGH VOLTAGES in a plasma TV.
I WOULD NOT OPERATE this TV until it has been checked by a qualified TV technician. The pop means something may be shorting. If it shorts to the frame, you can be seriously injured.

Ur backlight video inverter board is dead.Buy parts like capacitors for replacement with soldering or buy the whole board.Tries these websites.Shopjimmy.com,Partstore.com or Ebay.com.

hi there.most likely the fuse on the ysus panel has failed,which is the board on the left,looking at it from the back.if the fuse has failed,then so has the board...quite a common fault with all lg plasmas...
