Have you tried connecting you laptop to an external monitor and check if get the same issue? If the issue does not appear in external monitor it means your laptop LCD has problems, but if it appears in the external monitor then your video card or motherboard has problems and needs replacement.

My HP DV5 1159se was working fine last night and then this morning I go to turn it on as usual and a blank white screen comes up. The start tones are the same and I could even type my password in to log on...

If the inverter board or the back light behind the screen were bad your display would be blank, "but windows would be visible barely" the white screen indicates a bad LCD and must be changed. It is also possible the video cable from the motherboard to the screen has come loose and will need to be reseated back into place to fix it.

Touch screen display broken

HI! Here's what to do if your Logitech Harmony remote's LCD screen has gone blank.

1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.

2. Connect your remote to the computer.

3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.

4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".

5. The remote will go through the firmware update.

6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.

If the screen is still blank after you complete these steps, then it is a hardware issue and you should contact Logitech's wonderful support team, given that the remote is still under warranty. If you are not in warranty, Logitech does not provide repair services for Harmony products.

Hope that helps.

Dell D600

Sounds like a driver might have gone AWOL. Can you go into safe mode? Usually by pressing F8 after the Dell logo you will be prompted to go into safe mode.

Go insto safe mode and once inside restart the computer. This will repair anything that may have shutdown improperly.

If you can, also change the resolution to the least available, normally 800x600. Once you get back into the "normal" session, you can set it to your liking.

See if this works for you.

Screen went almost completely blank. could barely see the picture.

THERE IS NOT MODEL BRAND AND TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION.

If this tv is and LCD the black screen is now the answer of a problem in the back light. the problem can be resolved. the worst case scenario is to replace the lamps. is an average repair an estimate could be a good idea.

Fujitsu c series labtop screen goes blank, the hooked up to a monitor, starts to work then says out of frequence and goes blank

The video resolution and/or frequency that's set in windows is not supported by the monitor you have plugged in. Restart the PC in VGA mode (hit F8 after the BIOS messages but before any Windows messages) and change the video settings to something basic, such as 800 x 600 @ 60 Hz. Then restart the machine normally.
