    Possible solutions tried: Lowered drain hose ? no change; Check timer voltage output to motor ? No problems; Checked motor and electronic board ? No problems; Check LED light display (for error code flashes) ? Normal condition displayed; Check door switch ? No problem there; Check plastic coupler under agitator ? No damage; Checked belt ? Not damaged, broken, or worn;

    Solution that fixed the problem (at no expense cost): 1) Set the washer to the wash mode and started filling tub with water, 2) Unplugged the cord from the wall receptacle and waited one minute before plugging the washer back in, 3) Within (12) seconds, I opened and closed the door lid (6) times. Please note that the door had to be opened at least 2? to break the contact from the door switch?.It has to happen within 12 seconds?.And it has to be (6) times. When I did this, the software reset itself and everything is now working perfectly. This fix took me about 2 ½ minutes to perform and cost me absolutely nothing.

    yah this worked. weird! but my bro in law explained it, you unplug it to reenergize the system. when you plug in back in it tries to run some calibrations or whatever, and you opening and shutting the thing a bunch of times confuses it and tells it to reboot basically. totally worked.

    Yep, this worked. I had checked all of the above and was ready to either call a repairman (Cringe) or buy a new washer (cringe more) This saved me some bucks. Way to go.

    Thanks, spencer1989. Your re-setting instructions worked for my same model WJRR4170G1WW GE washer. Over the phone I asked the repair man about trying this. He said he'd been doing this for years, and never heard of this before. But I decided it couldn't hurt to try. Sure enough, it worked! We are thrilled. We were ready to pay the repair man for changing out our lid switch (which clearly wouldn't have worked), or buy a new machine, which we definitely can't afford right now. Thank you so much!

I have a GE, 4 to 5 years old, Super Capacity WJRR4170G1WW. When it agitates, the drum goes back and forth with the agitator. I though it should stay still. Please advise.

sorry to say you have a very expensive to repair problem ):
the transmission has a brake built into which is suppose to hold the tub in place during the agitation cycle and then release on the spin cycle to spin. the brake isnt engaging and the only fix is to replace the transmisson which is very expensive.
it may work for awhile then as it gets worse and the tub moves more during the wash cycle water will slosch out of it all over the floor,sorry to break the bad new

Loud noise when aggitating code says motor not rotating properly

It's noisy Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
or something stuck up in spinning motor assembly.

thanks and plse do not forget to accept the solution.

Kenmore series 70 washer won't stop agitating when lid Is lifted.

I have a Series 80 and when I lift the lid it does not stop aggitating when in wash mode. When I lift the lid it does stop spinning when in rinse mode. As designed.

To stop wash-mode aggitation at lid-lift, using the existing lid switch and other electrical components, is not easy and not recommended. I can think of a way to do it (triple-pole lid switch) but I will not detail the idea .. for safety concerns.

To stop aggitation, simply use the main settings dial control. You'll save money and possibly prevent a fire hazard!

Loud screaming sound during spin cycle

The screaming noise is probably from a dry bearing in the motor, it will probably come and go and shouldnt cause to much problem, they are supposed to be self lubricating but sometime they run dry.
