Rails for drawers have broken

I have a GE Profile bottom freezer fridge. model PDS22MCRABB. The rail stops for the vegetable and fruit drawers have snapped off. Now if I open the drawers all the way they fall off the rail and sit on the refrigerator floor below them. Can the whole rail be replaced?

This diagram shows the parts available for your model. It shows some rails. If you can see how the rails detach and go back on you can probably replace the broken ones. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=PDS22MCRABB&productCategoryId=0161000&brandId=0432&modelName=BOTTOM-MOUNT-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00001&componentDescription=DOORS%20&%20SHELVES&documentId=GR708119&blt=06

In cleaning my GE, I took the vegetable/fruit drawers out to clean and can't get them back in properly. The space is tight and there's not enough room to open the door wide enough to slide them back in. ...

You will have to pull the fridge out from the wall till you have room to open the door all the way. If it won't open, there is a stop on the bottom hinge that can be swapped or taken off to allow it to open farther.

If your are sure it's not needed you can just break the styrofoam and throw it away.

Crisper drawers are feezing vegetables.

look down at the bottom crisper and there should be an air control that lets more or less air in from the freezer section. close this control down so that most of the air stays in the freezer. some models may say meats(colder) and vegetables(warmer).

some models the control in the down position opens up the vent more allowing it to get colder and in the up position closes the vent down more allowing less cold air into the refrigerator. you can remove the crisper and experiment with the control.

Meat and vegetables placed in the produce drawers turn to ice. fridge temp set at 39. freezer set at 0. as you face the fridge, the drawer on your left is the worst. fruit is okay in right drawer.

check the damper door vent assembly located between the freezer and refrige compartments and make sure its not frozen open so as to let cold air in all the time, adjust the temp in the refrige and the door should open and close with adjustments,if not then damper door motor assy or the electronic control board is defective that supplies power to this door

Fridge freezing everything

THIS REF. WORKS BEST WITH THE REF. SET ON 4 OR 5 AND THE FREEZER AT 2 1/2 OR 3. HAVING A HIGH FREEZER TEMPATURE CAN HAVE FREEZING IN THE BOTTOM DRAWER OF TH REF. MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE RETURN AIR VENT TO THE FREZER IS BEHIND THAT DRAWER.

Bottom drawer of the refrigerator freezes the fruit.

I think the thermostat is faulty. Thus it makes the freezer extra cold. Try replacing it. Regards, Nandini.

Vegetable and fruit crisper drawers freezing foods

You have a defective thermistor and damper control in the fresh food or a bad control board.
Check the thermistor first.
Also, adjust the return air damper at the bottom left side of the fresh food sction to warmer.

I had the same problem. Apparently the problem is the main control board. According to the technician that came out to fix mine there is a design flaw and these boards are very sensitive and can blow a circuit or malfunction from the slightest power surge. What happens then is that the control board doesn't "tell" the fan to turn on and off at the right time so the fridge and freezer warm up too much before the fan kicks in and then it cools everything down but since the fan isn't running at the correct intervals and circulating the air all of the cold air settles to the bottom which causes the produce in the drawers to freeze while the top shelves get warmer. I had done a fair bit of research before calling GE and came to the conclusion that this was a common problem. So I pressed them and was able to get the fee for the part waived (before I made the service call appointment) which was around $150. The part now has a 5 year waranty which I find funny, because I'm not sure why it wouldn't have that upfront as my refridgerator is only 2 years old. Whatever!! Unfortunately, unless you have indepth knowledge of refridgerator repair there is no way around the service call and labor. Anyone buying a new model of refridgerator (any company) should consider an extended waranty. The service tech also told me that all refridgerators made after 2001 are required, by law, to have an electronic mother board which in all likelyhood will fail at somepoint prior to when you are ready to buy a new fridge!

Good Lucak!
