Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
Ice maker works fine but no water comes out for a glass of water.fridge is only a couple of years old, use to get a glass of water.
Normally you have what is called a dual solenoid water valve. This is the part that your house water supply line is connected to on the back of the fridge. One line goes to the ice maker and the other to the water disp. This is a common fault part we replace almost daily. You can also have an issue with the dispenser itself. Some dispensers have electrical control boards that fail or micro switches depending on the model number that will make either the ice or water not work.
initially check if the water line is likely disconnected, or clogged at some point (maybe even at the filter).if the water line looks ok and is connected properly and not clogged than its definately the faulty electric control board thats causing this.---Get the board replaced if necessary as repaired boards wont last longer.the board costs approx 80 dollars.
thanks, keep updated and please rate the solution positively.

I somehow doubt that the reservoir is frozen. These are usually outside of the freezer area so that they don't.
I would like for you to try something for me. Go to the fridge and listen very carefully for any noise from the back of the unit when you push the water dispenser lever.
You should be able to hear a distinct click. That will be the dispensers solenoid opening up to allow water to flow through the system to the dispenser. If you do not hear the click this means that the solenoid has gone bad. They are not hard to change and you can do this yourself.
At the back of the unit where the water line connects to the unit there should be the two solenoids for the water and ice maker. Switch the electrical connections from one to the other and then try the dispenser again. If it works then this is defiantly your problem. disconnect one set of wires from one solenoid only. Try there dispenser again. If it does not work then that is the good solenoid you have disconnected. Change the other one.
The part should be available from your local appliance parts house.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
