Hello there iainmurray_m.

You have a desktop PC with an internal fan that is overheating, correct?

If so, without delay replace the likely failing fan.

If the fan is atop your CPU heatsink assembly, SHUTDOWN PC RIGHT NOW AND REPLACE IT BEFORE YOU FRY YOUR CPU CHIP!

Good luck, and please do post back ...

  • to provide clarification or feedback.

    @ iainmurray_m.

    Just a bit of follow-up:

It's not that I wanted to alarm you with the ALL-CAPS, bold, underlined text ... it's that I NEEDED to alarm you with the ALL-CAPS, bold, underlined text.

It takes nothing more than mere seconds to a couple/few minutes to fatally overheat a CPU chip. Its fan is akin to a car's radiator fan, once it fails, very soon after, what it is protecting fails ... no ifs, ands, or buts.

Due to my purposeful haste in previous post, I didn't include a pic of a typical heatsink/fan assembly. Yours may look somewhat different, but it should be recognizable based on this.

Hi i have isuzu npr 2010 and have overheat problem if motor work slow not have problem but during the presser working have overheat problem if stop and motor work slow become normal

If I'm understanding u right, u overheat when the AC is not on?! If so, it sounds like the electrical fan for the AC is working & the electric, radiator cooling fan is not operating. This may be caused by a bad fan switch, coolant sensor fan relay, electrical short to the fan or it may be a simple fuse. Good Luck

My inglis dryer stopped half way through a cycle. What do I need to check?

Thermal reset. Once it overheats it will not reset. Purchase a new one at an appliances parts warehousefor about$35.

XB31 projector overheat

Hi sun_md

This sounds like a typical temp. sensor that is faulty.

If you take off the top cover of the Projector and follow the cables from your fans to the Mainboard - you'll find a smallish board that regulates the heat of the Projector. You will also find another sensor on top of the lamp housing.

Try replacing the sensor that goes with the fans first , this is normally the one giving problems.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya !
