SOURCE: Monitor goes to white at cpu shutdown

The problem is in the "soft switch" technology: On some of Sylvania's newer monitors they have incorporated what is called "soft switch" technology. This allows your ATX power supplied computer to turn your monitor on and off using it?s software controls. Therefore, your monitor?s light will always stay on blinking even when your computer is off. The monitor in normal operation consumes about 80W of power; in the "OFF" state it will be reduced below 8W. The "OFF" mode of the monitor can be controlled by the PC input signal or by pushing the soft-power button to disable the PC signal control for manually turning off the monitor screen. Thus, when the monitor is in soft-power "OFF" mode it still consumes a very small amount of power. For the purpose of making it noticeable to the user that the monitor is in soft-power "OFF" mode, we designed the power indicator to provide for a slow blinking signal (every 2 seconds). If you need to totally turn off the power, then the power cord would have to be unplugged. The same is true of the PC itself, but the PC does not provide for notification while in "OFF" mode. If it's still under warranty I would call for repair service. It sounds like typical internal power supply trouble that needs electrical troubleshooting.

SOURCE: SVA 17" flat monitor screen color is pink.

It's not a "windows" problem. At the bottom of your monitor there should be a 'menu' button. Push the button and use the up and down, right and left arrows on your keyboard to scroll to color. Get the "red" color and adjust it down. You can also scroll through to 'contrast' and adjust that. You don't need to pay a bunch of bucks to have this fixed.

SOURCE: Dell E173FP Monitor requires unplugging/plugging back in to wake

Perhaps your computer is hibernating instead of going into standby which takes a little longer to wake up from. While you are playing plugs and cables it give it enough time to come out of hibernation.

When the computer is in this mode the USB ports turn off which disables keyboard and mouse so the only way to wake up the computer is to press the power button on the computer itself.

One tell tale sign a computer is in hibernation is that the power light on the computer will slowly blink.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: monitor works fine until the sleep mode and then

It seems it is a motherboard battery problem. It most likely is not the monitor which is in "sleep mode", it is the computer itself.

When you cannot get a computer out of "sleep mode" by any other means, typically the cause is that the button-cell-type battery of your computer, which is located on the motherboard, is empty. When your computer detects this battery is empty, it goes into a low-power mode. The solution is to replace the button-cell battery on the motherboard of your computer

My monitor was working perfectly fine until I unplugged it to play on ps3 so when i did the ps3 wouldnt connect i tried holding down the ps3 button nothing so i plugged back into laptop no connection.

Have you used the HDMI cable with the PS3 before? it may be configured to use the AV connection. If so plug in an AV lead, then you would need to find in the settings to change the output to HDMI.

The HDMI cable may not work

Press windows key and P to switch between monitor modes

Try those and post back if you need more help.

Green Flash power only on one computer

It sounds like the monitor functions properly and your computer functions properly, but the combination causes a problem. Try making sure the screen resolution on your main computer is set to an acceptable resolution for your monitor - AL1916. Try setting it low to 800x600 and move up from there until it doesn't work anymore. You can change the screen resolution from the Display Settings (right click on the desktop and select Display Settings) window.

    Monitor Display Problem.

The first Polyview has a power supply problem (a short) and locks out the power until it is unplugged. You need to check the voltages inside the Monitor to determine which component/s are faulty. I hope you know electronics if not leave it to the repair shop because you have neither the skills or equipment to repair it. By the way I am not a monitor repair man but I do have 30 plus years in the electronics field.
The second monitor may have a broken wire in the cord that goes to your computer. Other internal components can cause the same simptoms your seeing. Good luck!

    Monitor doesn't work

When you got the pc, you should have been given a starter pack with some CD-ROM's in the pack, one of them should be the drives for the monitor, you might need to use anothermonitor to see the instructions, but the basic graphics card should power the monitor enough to set things up, until then you won't be able to adjust the settings.
