Try this first. Install the Latest Version of DirectX. Before continuing with diagnostics, please make sure you are using the latest release of DirectX. You can download the latest release here. Just copy and paste into your browser.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

Do this before downloading the newest DirectX.
1.. Unplug the camera.
2.. Uninstall the camera software using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.
1.. Click "Start", "Settings", and "Control Panel".
2.. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3.. Highlight the Logitech camera software and click the Add/Remove
button. (Change/Remove if you are using Windows XP.)
4.. Install the latest DirectX version from Microsoft.
5.. Reinstall the camera software.
Verify That the Device Has Been Loaded in the Device Manager
When Windows correctly detects the Logitech video camera it will load. 6.. Have the disk available for your webcam as you may be asked for it.

Let me know if this works for you. If not provide me with your brand and model of your webcam and operating system you are using.

Chicony USB 2.0 camera will not work

Please uninstall the camera from Control Panel->Ad Remove Programs and reboot. Then insert the CD that came with the camera and install its drivers. Reboot. Now attach the webcam and allow Windows to detect the webcam and load its drivers till you get a msg in the right bottom corner of the screen saying "The new HW is installed and is ready for use". Now start MSn and configure it for this webcam as default webcam and save settings. Now you can start your Video Calls.

My bulit webcam is apperaing fuzzy and i have not a clue why. how do i fix it and what is the proper program to use it? the model of my computer is toshiba satelie L350D

Sounds like it is dirty and needs cleaning. It is new? Be sure to remove the plastic cover. If not, use a qtip with alcohol to clean it.
There is no proper program to use it. You can use it with MSN messenger, Yahoo messeger, etc. Just be sure to get the drivers installed.

Problem w/ my toshiba satellite laptop L310 webcam switch

In Msn/Yahoo settings it asks you too select the device you wish to use. You just need to make sure that you have set it to "Allow other programmes to use this device" otherwise it becomes locked to Msn/Yahoo. You don't need to mess around with device manager or updates.

I have a Toshiba P200-RT2 laptop and I am trying to use my webcam on MSN and when I click to send my webcam invitation is says that my webcam is in use or not plugged in. I have tried signing on and off...

First go into control panel, click system and go to device manager. Make sure there are no conflicts when the web cam is plugged in. Is this webcam built into the laptop or via usb?
Thanks,
lee

Toshiba laptop webcam

If you are trying to use live messenger 8 you may have to use the set up utility. Open Messenger, show menu, tools, audio and video set up. Checks webcam, mic and speakers. If it says webcam is being used by another application, check the taskbar. If there is a webcam icon there, right click and close. Hope this helps.
