Sounds to me like you have a faulty timer switch.
If you decide to replace it yourself, First unplug the dryer from the electric and be sure to get the same switch, and I will also recommend that you remove and replace one wire at a time on the switch as this can be a real problem if you mix up your wires.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

After dryer shuts off, timer continues to run. Kenmore model #110.86181810, part # I think is 692032 and sears says it is no longer in stock. Anyone still have one?

I assume you're talking about the buzzer. Many high end dryers do that until you remove the clothes. heated clothes can set wrinkles if kept in the same position for a long time. it's a feature, not a problem, unless it keeps buzzing after you remove the dried clothes!

How do you get the bottom panel under the door of the dryer off? It looks like there are clips of some sort there, but can't remove or move the clips enough to remove the door? please give step by step...

Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair works.

The bottom front panel is secured to bottom of the top front panel by two securing clips. Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver between the top front panel and the bottom front panel as shown then pry the panel out then lift it off the cabinet.

Install the bottom of the bottom front panel first when reinstalling then push the top back into position until the clips engage.

My kenmore 81492500 manual suggests if the drum is turning, but not heat, there are 1 of 2 house fuses are blown. Where are the fuses located in the dryer circuit?

the fuses are in your house fuse box, with a meter check to see if you have 220 to 240 volts or 110 to 120 to the black and white wire and 110 to 120 to the red and white wire where the cord connects to the dryer,if you do you'll have to check the heater, the high limit thermostat on the heater box,the thermal fuse on the blower wheel housing, you have to unplug the dryer to do this and pull at least one of the wires off the part you're checking.next time send the first three small black numbers on the model number with the 81492500,

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

What problem are you having, the problems i have seen with kenmore elites are below.

1. when you press start and release dryer shuts off

for this problem, change the board in the console

2. not producing heat

for this problem, check to see if 220 is getting to element, check to see if you are getting 220 from outlet, check your thermal cutoff on heating housing, check your heater relay which is located in top console.
