Question about Kodak EasyShare C180 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Won't turn on. (I am using brand new Rayovac AA batteries and they are inserted correctly). It seems that possibly the "on/off" button is stuck in the down position, i.e., slightly recessed.

Polaroid A500 digital camera pressed ON button, nothing happened with new AA batteries and SD card

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Check the contacts for the battery to make sure they are clean and shiny. Then insert 4 brand new AA batteries observing the correct polarity and try again. Also check your users manual to be sure all of your setting and connection to your camera is correct.

I hope this was a help to you and good luck!

Cannot find batteries that work. I have replaced the batteries with different brands and it still wont turn on. What is the problem.... Its not reliable.

It is possible that there is a small amount of corrosion on the contacts in the camera. Use the eraser end of a common pencil to clean these contacts. Also, make sure you are using the correct batteries. It shows here that you have the polaroid i830. this camera uses two AA batteries: Open the battery door, located on the underside of the camera (use your thumb to slide the door outwards). Install the two AA batteries into the battery bay. Install the SD card into the slot located next to the battery bay. Close the battery door.
  1. Step2Press the power button located on top of the camera. Locate the "Playback" button on the rear of the camera, under the "W" button; this button switches the camera between "Capture" and "Playback" modes. Set the camera to "Capture" mode.
  2. Step3Press the button on the bottom right of the rear of the camera to open the mode selection window. Use the navigation buttons to select "Still Image" mode. Press the button labeled "Set Disp" to confirm your selection.

I don't know how to turn it on, insert the card properly, use the DV disc that came with the product all basic insturctions!

The battery has to be charged for a couple of hours, first.

If you camera uses AA batteries, use new alkaline batteries (not Li-Ion or "Heavy Duty").... be certain of the correct polarity when inserting batteries into camera.

What kind of camera is it? brand & model, please ...

The camera we purchased won't take more than 4 0r5 pictures before it says low battery and won't take more pictures. recentlu when we put in new batteries it says low battery.

You did not say what kind of batteries you are using. If they are AA rechargeables they need to be recharged if they havenot neen used for a while. Say if you took 4 or 5 pictures, the batteries died, you charged them but did on use the camera again for several weeks. When you do they will be dead again, that in the nature of rechargables, they lose charge just sitting there. Solution find the Sanyo Enteloop or Rayovac Hybrid brands, these next generation rechargables have a shelf life similar to NiCads.

Are you using alkaline batteries? If so, consider rechargeable NiMH AA batteries instead. Digital cameras are notorious alkaline battery eaters. By comparison, modern NiMH rechargeable batteries will last much longer per use/charge than ANY alkaline battery (up to 5 times longer). If you don't have them, get them, you won't regret it. Look for a power rating on the package of at least 2,500 mah.
