Normally, the cable input will only be available if a "live" cable or satellite box is connected to the other end.
You may also have to go through a setup routine to enable the cable input. Please check your manual.

How do I change from a cable input signal to an antenna input signal on a slyvania TV

I believe that the new flat digital antennas have a coax/cable connection on them. In the menu of the tv. You should select TV or Antenna for an input. You may be lucky and connect the antenna to your cable connector and get some local channels.
You should give us the model number of your set. As each tv is just a bit different.

Why is 'TV' selection grayed out in the input mode choises?

It is grayed out because you do not have anything connected to the tv input. If you connect an antenna to it or even a coaxial cable it will not be grayed out, and you will be able to access it.

I just got a new 26" Westinghouse TV, and the screen says "No Channels in List" and when I search for channels, it is not finding any.

What type of antenna are you using? Or what is your source for accessing channels? (i.e. - are you connecting to a cable tv service box or are you using a receiver ect.) Make sure that your source is connected to the input method that you are currently using on the tv.

There are many input methods to choose from in the settings of the tv. They are generally called antenna 1, antenna 2, cable, aux, hdmi - and a few other names. There should be a button on your remote to change them. The function is usually called "source" or "input". Press that button to change the input method until you get a picture on the tv or pick up some sort of reception. when you have the tv set on the same method of input that your antenna source is connected to, you will get channel reception or some sort of picture. Thats when you use the menu functions to auto find channels for you and let it go through its checking scan to report how many it has picked up.

If its running the scan for channels and not locating any stations, and the picture is either scrambled with the white noise sound tv's make when off channel or if its just single color screen without any sound - then you know the antenna input method you have chosen on the back of the tv is not the current method set in the settings under the menu key.

Most of the time the inputs are labeled on the back. If you look under the cable antenna connection, it should say "cable" somewhere in small print - or "antenna 1 input", antenna 2 ect. Look on the back of the tv. If you are using RCA jacks that are labeled right and left for sound and a third connector for video ect, look for the name of the input method of those three connections on the back of the tv. It should be marked as input - aux 1 ect. Then just change the source chosen in the tv to match it and have it auto program your channels.

Antena inputs are not receiving the cable signals. Its a panasonic projection tv

Try running the antenna or cable through a vcr and then hook the VCR to one of the video input of the TV (use yellow red and white out of VCR to TV) Try changing channels with the VCR.
I don't know if your on cable satelite or antenna.

Troubleshooting vcr

Usually one connects a RF [cable tv, Dish tv, antenna ] cable to the INPUT of VCR & a RF cable output to tv (antenna )INPUT .The reason is that if you are watching TV reception (Cable, Dish, etc) and you want to watch VCR tape, just push the tape in and it should start playing picture.
From what I understand that you are trying to say:: [ YOUR NEW TV ! ] you MUST connect to the RCA jacks, CABLE S with RCA plugs that come out of the VCR to the new TV [ INPUT & OUTPUT] jacks .When you ["" use input botton on VCR remote"" ] you are using a DIFFERENT input signal. You are not letting the TV know that you are changing the signal from RF(antenna, Cable, Dish, etc)to the RCA signal ["" I use my input botton on my vcr remote""]
