SOURCE: Kenmore washer dryer age?
Next to the serial number there should be a manufacter date. that is when it was made. I am guessing 2 years old.
But check on the back, it is peobaly printed on a small metal tag.
Most electronics have a manufacter date posted on them for warrenty sake. yours may still have a warrenty. you can also go to Kenmore website and in the search area type in the serial number and it can tell lots of info including if it is still under warrenty. wouldn't that be a nice surprise!

Here's the part numbers for the motor and the substitution version, as the older one might not be available any longer. You can order this from the searspartsdirect.com website for $169.31 and it's in stock.
Please verify this is the correct part for your dryer before ordering. Hope that helps!

You have to open the door right where the door closes if you look up you'll see two screws take those out and the top just comes off by lifting it up and then on the inside if your in the front of the dryer the screws are pointing to you so once you got the top look at the front panel but from the inside and at the top you'll see two screws one on left one on right take them out and grab the front panel and just lift it it sits on two little hooks or screws on the bottom i usually lift right and than left or left then right.
You will now have access to slide the new belt around the drum and ready to mount on the motor pulley and idler.
Pull your dryer from the wall and remove the back panel by the vent outlet.
You will see a diagram of how belt mounts over both pulleys, follow instructions and reinstall everything the way it was.
