Cant keep a belt on it have burnt 2 up with only 37.1 hrs on the tractor

Hello Donald, I would check any idler pulley bearing , tensioner pulley bearing, or mower deck bearings that runs on that belt. You might have a bad bearing causing the belt to burn off. Also check pulley alignment .

757 Ztrac. Why do I keep burning belts off?

if you dont use kevlar belts, then you are wasting money, they cost more, but, they last ten times longer, use the widest width that it can handle, dont buy from jd,it will cost you 100.00,go to ebay, etc, your tensioner should not be tight enoughto stretch the belt also, here is a jd belt, you can get cheaper just make sure it looks green or red,not rubber black, JOHN DEERE oem Mule Drive Belt TCU13195 737 757 Trak below 030000

How do you know when your pulleys are worn out

Really what the original intended purpose was. Most times you will see the wear pattern.

On mower most v-belt idlers have the back of the belt no deeper than the outside diameter. Engine pulleys vary. If the pulley shows of the belt bottoming out in groove it either worn out, wrong pulley or wrong belt. Flat idler wear similarly just not as noticeable. Most times it is retaining lips or bearings that goes. cIt is the same v-idler when it comes to bearings.

I replaced my PTO drive belt (engine to blades, part #754-0497) without any trouble.

Check all idler pulley bearings, double pulley bearings and the spindles bearings. If any feel rough hand turning replace them. Also make the spindle belt is correctly routed. Edited adding the word "belt"

The 60.5" belt is the correct for the G deck that uses the 66.5" spindle deck belt.

How do i replace drive belt on husqvarna zero turn model#96645580

To replace EZT belt
Park the mower on a level surface. Engage the park brake.

EZT belt removal
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the fan blades on the EZT as this can affect cooling or damage the EZT.
  1. Remove the deck belt
  2. Create slack in the belt by pushing the spring loaded idler arm away from the belt.
  3. Rotate arm to release belt tension.
  4. The belt should now be able to be removed from the engine pulley and EZT pulleys.
Belt installation
  1. Wrap the EZT belt around the EZT pulleys.
  2. Wrap the belt around the engine pulley.
  3. Route the belt around the inside of the idler pulley while keeping tension off the belt and then slowly the idler assembly afterwards.
  4. Check that the belt is on all the pulleys correctly and test drive your unit.
  5. Afterward then re-install your mower deck once your are satisfied with the drive installation..

Cub cadet SLT 1554 keeps throwing the drive belt

Double check the routing diagram. Check to make sure your idler pulleys are in good condition. Bearings are good. Lastly the tension spring may be worn. The belt should fit very snug. No more than 1 1/2" of deflection when you push on the belt with your thumb

Broken belt

This is actually pretty simple:

Remove Pto guard on mower deck

Stand mower up on back stands

Pull the friction disc away from the drive disc

slip new belt in between the friction disc and drive disc pushing all the way through

release friction disc allowing to come back in contact with drive disc

loop belt around engine pulley

let mower back down

route belt around mower pulley

loosen guides on idler pulley

route belt through idler pulley

with engine off move pto lever to tighten mower belt

adjust guides on idler pulley allowing 1/8" from belt

tighten bolt on idler pulley

release pto tension

install mower pto guard

and you should be ready to mow

If you are putting on the mtd belts and installing them right then you need to check bearings in variable speed pulley Also check idler and that no other pulley has been bent from installation.

I have a stx38 riding lawnmower. The drive is herky jerky in forw

I have seen this problem on other tractors. It is caused by a loose or sticking drive belt between the engine drive pulley and the transmission. There is an idler pulley between them that is spring loaded to keep the belt tight. If the pulley bearings froze so the pulley doesn't spin, or if rust or a broken spring prevents the pulley from swinging over enough to keep the belt tight it would cause the problem.
