Hi there and welcome,

Normally when you have selected the lines you want to record you record it to ONE place, now I do not know If you are using the computer or other devices to record ??
Also there is in your model 8 lines that comes in, and now you only need to record this 8 lines from you output line, you can edit the volume and etc for every lines :O)
Thats It
Have a nice Christmas

Let me know if this solve your problem

You have a memory problem. If you are using a flash card for memory or a CD drive or perhaps you have configured an external drive, you need to free up some space. Try deleting tracks or songs you don't need anymore.

Each song is independent on a CompactFlash
without affecting other songs. You can give a desired song name for managing recorded songs
(see pages 23 and 91).
Recorded track data is stored in a song as mono WAV files.
The MR-8mkII can convert the two WAV files recorded on tracks 7 and 8 (L and R) to a stereo
WAV file (see page 115).
You can export the converted stereo WAV file to your USB-connected personal computer, and
use the file by a music software application or make an original audio CD on the computer using
a CD burn software application. You can also burn an audio CD by using an external CD-R/RW
drive connected via the [USB HOST] port of the MR-8mkII (see page 115 and 123)

Hi there,
Yes you can record on the other 6 tracks, but you need to assign them.
If you are having problems assigning them, don't forget that you need to clear the previous assignments (for track 1 and 2 for example) FIRST, before you try and assign to say tracks 3 & 4.

To clear assignments hold down the assign key and the previously assigned tracks should flash. While still holding the assing key, press each one of the flashing channels seperately to un-assign them. Now release the assign key.

If I want to record let's say someone speaking for 90 min and burn 2 cd's , one 60min and the other 30 min from the one 90min recording , each one divided into tracks , how would I do this ?

If you want to burn a CD you have to make a master. For 2 cd's you have to make 2 masters, one for each recording.
The best way to handle this is to "create a song" for each speech giver and give each a name. This is because you can make only one master copy of a song before burning a Cd.

But another way is to :
1. Make a master of the first speech giver (who is on one track) and record to the Cd.
2. Make a new master of the second speech giver (on the other track) and record to Cd.
As long as you don't mind, the second mastering will overwrite the first one that you did, but then you already have burned a copy of that Cd!

Maybe stupid question....is it possible to record 8 separate mono tracks on this thing? I cannot seem to select only track 5, 6, 7, or 8. When I try to record onto 5, for example, it is impossible to not...

I believe you have to adjust the levels DURING the bounce operation... I don't think you can do that after.

I would consider using a computer based editing program to handle more than 4 tracks...

I have a Fostex DMT-8vl 8 track digital recorder. Can I dump the tracks to Acid Music Studio 7 or Acid Pro 7 to save what I recorded in the Fostex 8 track, and will it go into seperate tracks? Thanks...

You can copy. You cannot just dump the file data. Unless you have an audio interface with multiple inputs, you can only copy 2 tracks at a time. Also, to sync the timing you'll need a midi port on the computer. Then you make the computer the "master" and the Fostex a "slave" device.

From iTunes, I have converted the m4a track to WAV and then copied that over to my Tascam DP-02CF via the USB connection. When I go to import the track it says "Import file not found". What am I doing...

Your wave file is probably in stereo and you need to change it to mono. I use the free Audacity program to do this.

Once you have uploaded your wave file into audacity on the left side click on the down arrow which will bring up several options, click on the 'split stereo track' option. Then delete one of the tracks. You can then export the file as a wav file, you might want to rename with mono in your name so you don't write it over your previous stereo file. You can then import the file into your DP-02

Hello i want to take my tracks and make them on to one file

Try to use a program called nero wave editor. What is does is allow you to cut and paste on any wav file. You can inturn just past the one song after the other.

Hope it helps.

Recording multiple tracks at the same time.

Yes you certainly can record the 8 inputs onto 8 tracks simultaneously. You will need to make sure you are assigning each input to each track individually by first pressing the input button for an input and then pressing the select button for a track. Do this for each input/track and then make sure all of the 8 tracks you want to record to are armed for recording (the red rec buttons above each should be lit) before pressing record and play together.

You might want to insure that no tracks are linked (you can see this by pressing an input and observing which tracks have their 'select' button flashing). If 2 adjacent ones are flashing for the same input simply unassign one of them by pressing the 'select' button above that track. Then you'll be free to assign the next input to that track as above.

Best of luck.
