Display does not light up on PFAFF 1475 CD

Could be an electronic issue. Take it to your local Pfaff dealer for an estimate on repairing it. The parts may or may not be available.

My lily's 1800 heater only heats for about 3 minutes and shuts off. any suggsstions?

If the unit has an adjustable thermostat, it may have failed.
If not, then a device meant to prevent fire, a thermal switch, which should only trip if the internal temperature rises to an unsafe level has failed. This latter part is often responsible for failure of drip coffee machines; the Chinese are still learning how to make some things.

Since the unit seems to have electronic controls, either a temperature-sensing device called a 'thermistor' or the controls circuit board monitoring this device has failed.

Unfortunately, since this kind of appliance comes primarily from China, service and parts can be tough to find,

My aurora 440 screen goes blank when I stop sewing, I have to switch off and switch on again for the screen to come on again with the stitch size

I'm not exactly sure what the symptoms are .... do you mean that you can sew a long line of stitching without problem and then when you stop sewing, the machine turns off ? If this is what's happening, it could be a problem with the main motor drive circuitry ... when you stop sewing, there's an electronic brake that stops the motor in the right place and it sounds as though this has gone faulty and is killing the power supply. Unfortunately, if this is the case, your machine may well need to have its main control board ('S'-print) replaced, which is not cheap (check your warranty). Check the machine again, exactly what are the symptoms ... sew-off a reasonable length of material on a short stitch-length and check whether the machine 'dies' when you take your foot off the foot controller. Also, have a look to see if the sewing light and/or display backlight are still on when it has died. One other thing you might like to check is that there are some indicator lights that show whether the main power supply is OK and the processor is running .... these lights are behind a 'door' on the front panel ... you're probably not even aware that the door is there. If you look on the left-hand-side of the upright part of the front panel, to the left of where it says 'Quilters Edition' and about halfway between the base and the sewing arm, you'll see a thumb-sized semi-circle in the plastic, that is grooved ... look closer and you'll see that the front panel below the silvered part is a 'door' in the front panel and this semi-circle is the release for that door. If you press firmly on this semi-circle, whilst pulling the left-hand edge of the door with the big 'QE' on it towards you, it'll come off ... you do need to press the semi-circle quite firmly to release the cover. Behind the door are a set of 5 yellow LED indicators - the top four should all be brightly illuminated, whilst the bottom one should be flashing. If you repeat the sew-off, note whether any of the LEDs goes out, or goes dim (particularly the one labelled 30v - this is the motor supply voltage). If the 5v LED goes dim, this might be a fault on the power supply module ('L'-print), which is alot cheaper to repair than the 'S'-print. To replace the door, just re-insert the two lugs on the right-hand-side into the square holes in the front panel and push it back in place until it clicks firmly back. Good Luck, but be aware this may mean a trip to your Bernina service agent. Get back to me with the results.

Hi switched my sewing machine on today and burming from piece that goes into machine smells like the motor.

Switch off the power and smell closer to the motor , is you feel the motor was running hot or is still heating up without a movement then it is possible that the motor is faulty.
Make sure there is no friction on the mechanism or the drive. If so remove motor and test on direct voltage to confirm if there is any issues with the switch.

I'm plugging it in as always and there's no power. Is there a reset button? It has been tilted on it's side for a few weeks.

Check the power wiring, especially where it goes into the machine. Is there a connector inside that may have pulled apart? If you have a continuity tester, find the power cord terminals and check for continuity between those and the prongs on the plug, or use a voltmeter or "voltage sniffer"* to check for voltage on the terminals with the machine plugged in.

*Voltage sniffer: a gadget that chirps and flashes a red light if it is brought near an energized AC wire. It comes in various forms, e. g., inside a penlight, screwdriver handle or wire cutter handle. A fox and hound type circuit breaker tracer should also work if the "fox" is plugged into the same outlet as the sewing machine.

I have a memory craft 7000 that shows an "ER" message and won't sew

Most likely it is a step motor failure. It is possible that the A board or the F board has failed. There is a diagnosis chart and service program to run to isolate the problem, but it is complicated and requires explicit knowledge. You could try this: Turn the power off and manually move the needle bar from side to side a dozen times or so then turn the power on. Turn the power on and off several times if necessary, always waiting five seconds between on and off. If this does not work, take it to a Janome dealer (Janome is New Home).

Do you have a Magic Box or Amazing Box? The only way I know how to rewrite your card is to insert it in the Box and it will ask you if you want to erase the card. I have the same machine and I believe your cards that you buy with designs already on them are non erasable. You have to buy a blank card to put your own designs on them.
